I belong to AAA but have never booked thru AAA before i know you get like a 10 percent discount. My questions are can i book thru AAA with a pin? Or if there is a free dining promotion or percentage off promo can i get that and the AAA discount? And finally can you book like going thru Disney Travel Agents by only placing $200 down? Or you have to pay for the whole thing right up front?

Thank you to all those that reply.

You can't combine a AAA discount with any other discount but AAA travel agents can book free dining, etc. for you. For any package there is 200 dollar down payment needed and then the balance is paid off 45 days out. You do get perks for bookinig a package through AAA such as the Diamond Parking Pass, etc..
Have fun planning!

Remember booking with AAA as well as any travel agent, they will be on the only ones who can make changes after the reservation is booked.

If you are like me (likes to be in control of my own reservations) then book through Disney. That way anytime during operating hours you can make any changes you want and won't have to wait on someone else doing it :)

FYI for the future, you can book room only AAA rate through Disney too. So if you don't have a discount code and want to get AAA but be in control of your reservation call Disney and ask for the AAA rate. (that is if they have not recently changed that rule)

They haven't changed that rule, but just to reiterate, that is for a ROOM ONLY. If you want the DP, you MUST book through AAA. We don't do the dining plan, so I also keep control of my reservation.

We booked through AAA because we wanted the dining plan and it's been fine having someone else do it. You can still do your dining on your own. However, we also know that we won't be switching to a better offer (free dining, etc.) since we're staying at the campground which isn't eligible for most promotions.

I was able to book through AAA and use my PIN as well. It saved us a ton and I didn't have ANY issues what so ever.
The only thing that does annoy me in the slightest is not being able to control my reservation online…..It's really a non issue though, I just like being able to go online and adjust the reservation as needed. :o)

Just to clarify, you can book through AAA using a pin (or even they can book any promo Disney comes out with) but you ONLY get the pin discount, not the AAA discount too. The same rule of only-one-discount-allowed applies whether you're booking directly with Disney or through any travel agent, including AAA. We have booked several times with AAA, first getting just the 10% off on the room & booking a package with dining. Then when free dining or a better room discount came out to general public, I called my AAA agent and they dropped the AAA 10% discount and got the Disney discount applied. So I did book free dining through AAA...but it was the same price as if I'd booked it directly through Disney. The only advantage we see to booking with AAA is to get the diamond parking pass...and not sure that's such an advantage anymore since our AAA now charges a booking fee, and charges another fee anytime we make a change (like to get a better discount) so it ends up costing us $20 or $30 more to book through them.

Glad to know this….AAA made it seem like to me I was getting to use both, I see this really wasn't the case.

Thanks!
