Questions about booking umbrellas at blizzard beach

Will be on a red-eye from the west coast with extended family (cousin and her 2 kids--13 and 7, myself. and mom--72 =). Planning to go to blizzard beach after we check in and drop bags at OKW. My mom is going to need to "nap" and are trying to decide if it's better to book lodge umbrellas or a polar patio for blizzard beach. Which would be recommended for shade and napping? Also, I know you can book the umbrellas/patio at 60-days but is that 6:00am EST? TIA!!

I can’t comment on whether an umbrella or polar patio is better, because we’ve never used either. But, I just booked a polar patio for our upcoming trip & I logged on at 5:58, thinking it would open up at 6:00, & it was already bookable. So I think it might open for booking at midnight.

It does open at midnight. I book beach shacks at TL at midnight.

I just can't decide. The fan would be great for my mother while she snoozes as well as for the of us taking a break Then I think I could save a chunk of change and get an umbrella. I'll have to make up mind in the next week or so as our 60-day mark is fast approaching!!!

The issue with the Patios/Shacks is that there are no full loungers. I've napped many times on a regular lounger (they have these with the umbrellas), but have not been able to nap with the Adirondack type chair they have in the patios/shacks.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. Glad to have some first-hand info on the patios and how they are for napping.
