We're heading down during Spring Break with our 8 year old autistic, non-verbal son. :cool1: This is our first trip without his older two siblings, so we can just focus on everything Zeke wants to do:thumbsup2 . His older two brothers are very excited about vacationing with the grandparents.

We are hoping to take Zeke to Blizzard Beach. He LOVES the water; however, he's very small...41 inches, 32 lbs. He will be tall enough to ride several rides. My question is can he sit in front of dh or myself so we can gently keep our arms around him, or do you think he will HAVE to sit next to us. I'm thinking specifically about the rides with the big intertubes. I would just feel safer with him in front of one of us.

Also, we are staying at Carribean Beach...any advice, definate do's or don't's. We've only stayed at Fort Wilderness, so I need so insider tips;)

There are several tube rides where you can get a double tube and he can ride in front of you and you can hold on to him with your feet. He will probably love the chair lift and Teamboat Springs, the family raft ride. The lazy river is cool and they have small innertubes available for little kids. My four year old who was 44 inches loved it and had a blast! Enjoy!

Teamboat Springs you may have to sit beside him, but he should be able to slide up nice and close so you can put one arm around him. You can also get double tubes on the lazy river, but he might be better off in one of the smaller rings that has a bottom to it. Both that and Melt Away Bay are shallow enough for an adult to walk alongside him, or, if you'd rather, you can get your own ring and hold onto one of the handles on his.

Caribbean Beach is great, he'll love it (so will you guys, I'm sure)! It is quite big, though, so pack your walking legs. The main pool is fun, and you'll also find smaller pools around the resort that aren't themed, but are usually quieter (especially early in the morning, if he's an early bird). Parrot Cay island is a must do. It has a playground and lots of exotic birds flying around. You can also buy food from little dispensers around the lake to feed the turtles (or at least, you could last time I stayed there). Other than that, there's the beaches (with hammocks), the main building (including games arcade, a good food court and, as far as I remember, Disney cartoons in the foyer), and bike, peddle surrey and boat rentals. Enough to keep you entertained for a few weeks before you get around to hitting the parks, I would think ;) .

In case you've not seen them already, here's a map of Blizzard Beach: http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/blizzard.htm
