For those that have been (whether by cruise or for an extended stay) at the end of December or beginning of January, did you find it to be incredibly busy during the holidays, or does the mild weather scare people away?
My husband and I will be renewing our vows next December and we will be planning/booking soon. I have enough Marriott points to book our room but as far as family is concerned, I'm not sure if they should book ASAP (in case rooms get booked up) or wait for deals etc. My biggest dilemma is that my kids' and niece's/nephews' school schedules have yet to be released. Ideally, we'd like to go 12/16-12/22 but I'm not sure if they will have that week off. This year their last day of school was 12/16 and they go back 1/3 but I really have no clue what they plan to do next year. (Last year they didn't release the new schedule until April!)
I also have to consider cost of flights as well. And lastly, weather. Does it get much colder at the end of December/beginning of January? It's 80 degrees there right now but not sure if that's normal??
Any and all suggestions are welcome! There will be anywhere from 15-30 people going and I will be doing most of the planning so I'd like to start early. Our actual 10 year anniversary is 12/15/17 but I'm ok with dates AROUND that time.
(I thought this was the most appropriate board to start this thread since so many Disney Cruises sail to Atlantis. Feel free to move.)
