Questions About ASMovies & Buses

We are going to Disney 11/4-11/12 - So excited !!!!!
This is our first time so I have a question - About how long do you have to wait at All Star Movies to get a bus? And then how long does it take to get to the parks? We are trying to plan what time to leave to be at MK when it opens, and also to be at our ADR's. Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!
Also - as far as EMH, if you are not in the park that is open late when it closes to the public and you don't get a wristband can you get in later ? Like if the EMH is until 10 can you go in at 8? THANKS !

It's hard to say how long you'll have to wait for a bus. We've been to ASMO when it seemed like we didn't wait anymore than 5 minutes. Other times, it has been a lot longer, especially if you happen to just miss a bus. Supposedly, buses run at least every 20 minutes. Sometimes, ASMO shares a bus with the other 2 All Star resorts. Other times, it has its own.

I can't remember how long it takes to get to each park, although there is somewhere on this site that I've read it. It takes longest to get to MK & Epcot, MGM is next & AK is closest.

We didn't wait long for the busses at All-Star Music, Movies should be the same. Parks opened at 9 during our stay and we showed up at the bus stop at 8 for first bus - got right on. Drive to Epcot was about 10-15 minutes - same for MGM. MK was about 20 minutes. One tip from some at All-Star Movies is that depending on which section you are staying - All-Star Music stop would be closer - and drops you off before All-Star Movies. (check out maps).

EMH start giving out wristbands at 5 - but if you get there later just have to get the wristband at entrance. busses are still going from resorts and you can walk up and get in. Our EMH night for MK was a great time to go on all the rides for the last time before our trip back the next day.

The buses were the only thing I didn't like about the AStars. Since the bus is shared between the 3 resorts it tended to be crowded every time. They do run a lot of them, but sometimes it's inconvenient.

I guess depends on the time you go. If you stay for Wishes or Illuminations the wait will be a while. We chocked that up for learning. After we saw Illuminations and Wishes we left early on other days- DD (3) was getting tired as week went on - and didn't have to wait long.

Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-CBR buses---POPbuses--PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 20 min-----25 min------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 15 min-----20 min------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----12 min-----15 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------20min-------15 min----15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min------20 min-----15 min---35 min

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot,MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

A WORD ABOUT BUS SHARING:

It is usually just our stop and maybe one more on the way to the parks. On the way back sometimes its all 3 but often Sports and Music share and Movies has it's own bus back.

I guess some people who stay at POP see all 3 All Star names on the return sign of our bus stop when they head to the POP bus stop and think All Stars also has 3 stops on the way to the park.
(Even when we stop at another AS resort to load up it has not taken more than 5 minutes and we are on our way!)
