Questions about adding another person to our plans.

We have had our trip booked for quite some time now, magic bands arrived and fast pass+ booked. My college age son let us know last week that he will be able to join us after all. He will not be staying on site but wants to join us in the parks. Thanks to Disney I have been able to adjust all our dining reservations to add our +1. My question is how to I go about obtaining a 10 day park hopper (can I purchase one in advance and have it waiting at the resort for us) and is it going to be possible to add him to our fast pass times? Not sure how the fast pass works if you are not staying on site. Thanks for any information anyone can provide. It's so last minute as we leave in a week and I'm trying not to get too stressed.

I have a similar situation. Unless he has a room reservation to link to his MDE he will have to make all his reservations day by day at the parks. There will be no way to link the two of you. I am adding my daughter to my room reservation, but not my package because she already has her tickets. She also is only going for a portion of our stay. Maybe you could add him to your entire package even though he won't be staying with you. That way when you do, you could link him by adding him on your family list. Just a thought.

If someone else has a different answer I would love to hear it.

I considered adding him to the room but I don't think the resort will allow it because we already have four in the room and that is the max at AKL :sad1:

Our room will accommodate 5 at BC. I thought rooms at AKL will do the same? We stayed there with 5 a few years ago. Did you call.

AKL is definitely 4 + 1 child under 3 in a standard room. WL is the same way. All the other Deluxes allow 5.

From what I understand, he'll have to make his FP+ reservations day by day. He may be able to get very similar times if he does it early on though.

Gotta love FP+. Unless you can move to a resort that can house him (wether or not he actually stays with you), I don't think you can do much except try to get similar FPs at the kiosks when you arrive at the park each morning.

Just had an idea. What about a throw-away room for him somewhere? Would one night at a value get him a MB that you could link to a 10-day ticket for the duration? Then you could try to get FP selections lined up closely before you arrive. Maybe some experts could chime in.

I would buy a 5 day hopper and add days as you need them to save the most $. Each extra day can be added at guest services for $10+tax using price bridging after it has been used for entry at least once. You have to add days before the last day is used. Order the ticket from undercovertourist and you can pick it up for free or pay $16 for 2-day FED Ex express shipping:

Actually my daughter has a room only reservation and everything was linked and wonderful. Her boyfriend of 3.5 years broke things off with her and is not going. We leave in 22 days. When I cancel her room her magic band with her FP+ reservations like mine will be canceled.

I was thinking of every possibility to keep her existing FP+ with ours. If I keep the one night at all star resorts for her day of arrival, will all her passes stay after she checks out and moves over to BC with us? She is only going for 5 nights whereas we are going for 10. She already is linked with me on MDE.

Suggestions ? And thank you! It's been a crazy week trying to figure this all out when the planning began in July!!
