Sorry if this belongs on the rent/trade board. I'm renting points from a DVC member for my stay. I seem to remember reading a post where someone said non-members renting still get some of the same discounts as members. This doesn't sound right, though. Can anyone confirm?

when you check in - look at what your resort ID says - if it says DVC member (and it should) then yes - you can get the DVC discounts.

Orginially no - DVC members and renters were not be treated equally - but I think DVC gave up long ago trying to treat them separately.

Now if you rent thought the Disney Travel Co (CRO) then no you aren't entitled to any of the DVC member discounts.

Renters aren't technically entitled to the discounts but they are usually given to renters. I'd ask he person you rented from to email you the info fromt the member website, print it and take it with you. Good luck.

Thanks for the responses! I'm not going to be planning on any discounts, but I guess if I get some, it will be an added bonus. Old Key West will certainly be an enjoyable place to stay regardless :hyper:

You will love our "home"! We will just miss you, as we arrive 1/14/04 and leave 1/21/04

So if the room ID says member, but the person is actually a guest, will the discount work for golf? Our guests' have the reservation in their name, if that makes a difference. They are golfers, we aren't, so they will be playing on their own while we go to the parks. TIA!!

I don't think they would get the golf discount. It requires purchasing a golf badge and the description on the member site states that must be bought by the "cardholder". They might be able to get the golf discount at Celebration Golf with just the room key that says "member".
