The question is this: in a two adult occupancy room, if there are three adults, do you have to report that third adult and pay the additional charge?

I will be staying in the Boardwalk Inn, and there will be 3 adults, two 8 year olds and one baby . It would be tight, but I think we could all fit in the room without a problem, using the daybed and crib. I am just trying to save a couple bucks though, and I know that in other hotels that I have had at least 3 other adults in my room and not been charged.

Anybody have any experiences at a disney hotel either way on this?

You will find that most posters on these boards will not condone this action. Most do not condone cheating businesses in this manner. In fact most thrreads like this usually turn ugly real fast.

Folks let's not give in to the urge to start the whole tirade about teaching our children to cheat, stealing, or not telling the truth.

In all honesty if there are 3 adults in the room you should pay for them.

most room ressies are for 4 or less occupants. be aware if you get caught, you could be asked to leave with no refund. this could ruin a wonderful vacation. most resorts at wdw are filling fast for summer with FTP prices. so if you get caught you could be out in the cold with no where to stay.

This is one of those threads that can turn ugly.

You are asking if it is OK to break resort rules and lie about the persons occupying the room. You will be asked the ages of the occupants when you make your reservations. Will your conscience let you lie about it? I can only speak for myself, but my answer would be 'no'.

You say you are just trying to save a few bucks. If so, the Boardwalk is not the place for you. If you can't afford the extra adult at the BWI, then set your sites a little lower. AKL, WL, or a mod would be much less of a financial strain.

We had friends go who had 3 adults in a room (no kids) and they were fine, without reporting it. They were actually all in college at the time, 19 or 20, but still considered adults by Disney. They had PHs so they didn't need to report anything for the UPH so they just said 2 adults. I know a lot of people would frown upon this, and state fire codes, etc., but the fire dept. is not going to get a list from the Boardwalk if there's a fire, they're gonna just search for people. So really, if you want to do that, go ahead. Also, if you want to have the person listed as a room guest, just say they're 17 if you don't want to pay the extra $25/night, I don't see any harm in it.

Just pay the extra fee or stay someplace that is less expensive. . It is not worth being embarrassed if you are caught or cheating to save a few extra dollars. If you can't afford to pay what they charge, you need to figure out what you can afford and change your reservations to someplace else. Just remember you are a Disney and there are lots of magical places at rates that are less then the Boardwalk. The Swan which is also at a great location is running some great deals right now. :D

I appreciate everyone's feedback.

I didn't want to start an ugly thread--it was just a question that I didn't know the answer to, and I guess that after reading it, it does sound shady. I have just never had a situation where I have personally had more than two adults.

I have stayed at the Boardwalk before, and paid close to rack, so the price of the resort is not the issue.

Also, my children have been brought up with outstanding morals and have been instilled with excellent values, and I didn't think I was initiating a tirade to lie, steal and cheat. I apologize that I worded my question like this, and will accept the flames.

This post should probably be closed now.

hi: we've stayed with additional adults in the rooms and paid for them accordingly. it will be a tight squeeze with that many people in the room. you may want to try and rent points from a dvc owner and stay in a 2br (sleeps 8) bw villa. it will probably cost a bit more than the bwi room, but you will be able to save some money because there will be a full kitchen as well as washer and dryer in your unit. we don't cook on vacation- unless you count using the toaster or my dil boiling water for tea. we do however, use the fridge to store drinks, water, some fruit, milk and assorted breakfast goodies. we also buy some snacks. just by having breakfast in your room, you will save a fair amount. you may want to check the rent/trade board on the dvc board on this site.
