I just got off the phone with Disney and loop 100 and 200 are full the week we want to go but they said they had full hookup sites in 1600 - 1800 with everything but cable. I thought I read that they were cabeling the whole park? Or they just leaving out the partital sites and full hookup. I don't remember what the 1600 sites are like but looking at the map it doesn't look like I would like it there besides I need my Disney TV. Also we have allways stayed in the 100 or 200 loop.
This is a real bummer since it doesn't look like we are going to get to go now after eveything else I thioght I had this to look forward to.

1600-1800 do have cable. When we were there in October they were installing it.

Preferred are going to be closer to the Marina and Trails End. Personally we always go with the 1600-1800 loops. Those are preferred for us. We like being closer to the pool, Meadows shop and bike barn.

Does anybody else here know about this? I guess I need convincing that I would like the 1700 or 1900 loop as much as the 100-200. I know it's all Disney but I would hate to get a spot that I don't like and have to spend a week there. Not to mention all the money.

We have stayed in #1649 and I loved it. It was close to the Meadows and all the activity there, there is a comfort station that is real handy, and if you walk along the path between the comfort station & 1500, the bus stop is right there.

I don't know for sure, but I was also told that the cable had been installed this past fall. We did get good reception when we were there with our antenna, before they had cable.

Thanks
I guess that if that is all they have I will take it but I know I will miss being in the middle of things. I like the sounds from the lake. Also we have a golf cart so that will help. I read somewhere that 1600 thru 1900 were all pet loops but Shan's post only lists 1600-1800 as pet. Not that I don't like dogs but I leave mine at home for a reason. Besides with my luck I wouldn't get a nice pet owner with a wonderful pet. I would get the barking dog with the uncareing owner. And after I get my site set up and couldn't move very easy.

The other thing you can do, is when checking in, ask the CM what other sites/loops are available. Last April I wanted the 300- preferred, it wasn't available, so we took a full hookup. When we checked in I asked the CM if anything was open in the 300, not only did we get a site in the 300, but we got it at the original rate we had booked with.

we stayed in the 1600 loop and loved it. Just a short walk to meadows pool.

According to the Disney website, the only difference between Full and Preferred is cable (and the internet availability that comes with cable). Otherwise, the same verbiage is used (it's rearranged slightly, but every word is reused!). Now that cable has been added to the Full loops, there is nothing definitionally to distinguish the two levels... which leaves Disney the flexibility to put Preferred folks into historically Full loops! I suspect at some point they will revise the definition to say that the Preferred loops are in preferred locations (near the marina) and that Full has the same amenities in more secluded locales.

As for pet designation, 1600 and 1800 are historically pet loops, and 1700 and 1900 are not. I suspect that they are all pet loops now, since I have seen pets in all 4 loops and IIRC there a poop bag dispensers in 1900. That said, one of the nicest aspects of staying in 1800 and 1900 is the peace and quiet. Maybe it was just a quirk, but the times we have stayed in 1800 it was mostly grown-ups, and never a loud dog. I suspect families opts for loops closer to the pool or marina, and left us a nice quiet loop. 1800 and 1900 are well off of the road, so no bus noise. And it is far from the marina, so none of that noise. 1600 and 1700 have sites that back up to the road, so half of those loops are, in my book, undesirable... unless you are a purveyor of inflatable Christmas joy! Or, if easy access to the pool/post is a major factor. The biggest benefit of staying in 1600 is the proximity to the bus stop and the fact that there are two comfort stations accessible from either the front or back of the loop.

Carol, you said 1649? My records say that the loop only has 45 sites... maybe 1639? Did you back up to the road? Were you near the CS that is shared with 1500 loop?

I was sure it was #1649 and it was on the inside of the loop, close to the CS. I'll have to go through my old papers to check, now you have me thinking:confused3 It was a great site though, I remember that much :goodvibes

1629 is on the inside and just a couple of sites from the 1600-1500 CS.

Thanks I guess I will call back and see if they have anything available in the 1900 loop. I just I don't end up next to a barking dog. We run into that sometimes at our local campground and it ins't pleasant even durring the day. We do take our dog with us on camping trips but she is not a barker but when she does occasionally bark I call her down immediately. Pets are great amd I enjoy meeting other pet owners and thier pets but I don't want to hear them making racket all day or night.

Well just made the call and was told that 1900 is not a pet loop and that none of the full hookup sites have cable. Cable is only available in premium and prefered.
We have res for May 22 thru 30 so if everything goes right we are going to see the Mouse. And if it goes wrong there will be another post saying canceled res. But lets hope that doesn't happen.
Disney resorvations confuse me. I don't understand why they can't just enter the dates you paid for in the computer and boom the site is taken and you have your site. They said we were resreved in the 1900 loop but won't know for sure till we get there.
