Hello All,
I'm somewhat new to these Forums and I had a few questions that I'd like to ask. Based on the threads I have been reading through you are all very nice and very helpful so I figured, why not just post the question(s).

I purchased my DVC membership back in Feb of '09.

Based on the information above, is "February" considered my "Use Year"?
Does this mean that if I have points I need to use (I cannot bank them again), they need to be used prior to February 1st?
If that is the case, I would have to book my points 4 months prior to this? So in this case, I would have to book a vacation no later than the last day in September?

I'm sure in due time, these questions will be second nature for me, but for now, I'm just trying to clarify.

I hope I am posing these questions in the proper area as being a newbie here, it all seems a little overwhelming.

It's a pleasure to meet you all!

nope. UY is based on the contract you buy...not when you buy.

your contract should state your UY month - you can also look online.

if you have a feb UY, then yes, you'd need to stay before feb of the next year or else bank them if they were current year pts by the end of sept when your banking window closes.

you can book a stay at a DVC resort from 11 months out at your home resort to the day of the trip, if there is availability.

if you want to trade out for a cruise or a stay at the GF or something else, you would have to do so before the end of sept (and pay a fee). the rule of 4 only applies to trades out of DVC.

Not quite sure about your user name - :scared1: - but to be helpful, call MS, give them you member #, and talk to them. I have found that most are very nice and patient with me when I call. And, yes, I have had a few that are not as nice, and when I feel I am not getting anywhere, I hang up and call back, and will usually get a nice person who will answer all of my questions.

I did just that after I got the first reply. Very VERY helpful they are.

Sorry about the username, I've been using it on forums since I was 15, just kind of brought it with me :lmao:

Thanks!
