My parents are going to be at Disneyland tomorrow. When we go to Disney World there are a few rides that if you have a wheelchair you don't need a fastpass (ie, big thunder mountain, space mountain, haunted mansion, etc) Can anyone tell me if there are any rides at Disneyland or California Adventures that they would not need to get a fastpass because of the wheelchair. I am just trying to help them plan their day tomorrow. Thanks!

The only one I can think of that you would need one for in DL is Indy. The others all have wheelchairs enter through the exit que. Although, I'm not positive about Buzz . . .

And I really am not sure about DCA attractions.

Because Buzz was designed after ADA requirements, they designed the cue for handicap accessibility for wheelchairs in the line, so you would need FP for Buzz.

I also think a FP would be necessary for rides like Soarin and Grizzly because they were built to ADA requirements too

I've actually seen someone in a motorized wheelchair and their family going through the "movie" room in Indy via an aisle all the way to the right. They did still have to see the movie, but they hadn't been in the FP line I was in or in the mainstream "movie" room line it seems everyone has to go through. So I'm not totally sure you need a FP if you're in a wheelchair.

Grizzly has stairs going in and out, so they must have SOME sort of accessible entrance/exit that's separate, yes?

For Buzz it depends on the CM working the ride. In October for our whole trip they had us go through the FP line with the wheel chair. Which we needed because of medications my brother takes, can't sit in the sun. So that was really helpful. On the last day, the last time we tried to ride the CM insisted on us going through the line. We tried to explain our situation, but she wouldn't budge, which I thought was ridiculous. We didn't want a front of the line pass, just wanted him out of the sun, and it was how we did it all week! So we didn't ride, which was a bummer. But yeah, it just depends on that one.

With a wheelchair or ECV, almost every ride in DL you go through the exit, including Indy. DCA is different as they built the ques to be wheelchiar accessable. I rented an ECV last June because I was having major feet problems and we got to go to the exit of almost every ride. Sometimes you get right on and other times you have to wait a while, but it's not a long wait!

Indy used to use their exit for wheelchair access, but not anymore. You now go through the regular que until you get to the movie room, where the CM will then take the wheelchair and party separately to board the ride. I just saw this happen with th people behind me in line in November when I was there.

Odd, we were there the first weekend of this month (june) and people in wheelchairs were using the exit line, they went thru the exit line to the room right outside the movie room then cut thru the "main" line and went into the movie that way. The line there was actually quite long, there were 3 or 4 people in wheelchairs waiting to cut thru our line.

If you go to City Hall when you get there, they have a yellow piece of paper that lists every ride in both parks and tells about the specific wheelchair entereances for them. If you go, just ask the CM there for the guide for the rides so you know how to enter with the wheelchair and they'll know what you mean.

Indiana Jones - you go through the exit until you get to the room where the well is (or whatever you want to call that room). There a CM will "cut" you into the handicapped line and you slowly incorporate into the regular line there in the movie room. They keep it so just 1 wheelchair is in there at a time, so it can get somewhat backed up.

Most other rides at DL, you go through the exit, but not all of them. Ask the CM's working the queue and they'll direct you to the right place.

DCA is not as 'easy' as DL is. Most of their rides were built to allow for ADA requirements, so you don't get to "cut" to the front of the line.
