Question regarding resort check-in

Having never stayed onsite before I am curious about something. I have been reading some horror stories about check-ins that take hours to complete. And everyone always mentions how long their check-in time was (good or bad). Should I be planning for a long check-in? Is this a problem that the resorts have? I'm staying at POFQ.

It's never taken me longer than 10 minutes to check in the resort. I think it typically takes longer on weekends, but I've never heard of hours. You shouldn't have any problems.

our check in at POFQ took almost an hour and it was not because of the line, there were only 2-3 people ahead of us at 1:00 pm on a Sat. Rather it was due to a slow CM. she was a transplant from WDW Japan? and was training for her job. so with the splitting of the 2 rooms from one ressie and confirming charges it took quite a while and about 4 CM to help her.
I think it was an isolated occasion but just be warned even if there is a short line, you just never know. BTW there is a kids area with T.V. and a fountain to toss pennies in for entertainment right by the check in area. Have a great stay there, we certainly did!

It can go either way. More often than not we walk in with 0- a few people ahead of us and we are taken within 5-10 minutes.

Once we had 2 large tour busses arrive right before us and we waited in line for an hour!

I suppose we've been fortunate -- never had a long wait anywhere. On our next trip we arrive on Saturday, so that may blow our track record of fast check-ins.

We too have been fortunate to have minimal check in times. On average 10 minutes tops.

One visit we drove in late to ASM for one night before our week at the Poly and it took us about 30 minutes due to volume.

I don't think it has ever taken us more than about 20 minutes. I keep reading about all these long waits and maybe we have just been lucky.

I think it really depends on the time of the day you check in. We do an early morning check in before heading to the park. We have never waited more than 5 minutes.
