Mods, move to a more appropriate forum if needed, but I figured this was a good place to start.

For our trip in Nov/Dec, my family made the decision to rent points, since we didn't have enough of our own and are trying to conserve for next year's trip, and I found availability at OKW for a few nights. Went through David's, and they moved pretty quickly so I had the room within two days. However, the renter only put my name on the reservation and not the rest of my six person family. (Which had been inputted into the fields on David's site, and David's already reached out to the renter to fix this.)

While we should have plenty of time for the renter to add the rest of my family, is there anything I can do in the meantime? I know I can't contact MS, since the renter owns the reservation, but would the worst case scenario be that I can't add the rest of my family until we get to Disney? Yes, I know I'm overthinking this, but just trying to plan for any avenues, since this is the first time I've rented points.

Not adding the rest of your family prior to arrival is just one problem. If anyone wants to use Magical Express or book theme park reservation dates, they need to be on the reservation, with park tickets linked.

Yeah that's part of what I'm nervous about. We are considering a car, since we may be flying in the night before, depending on how flights pan out. And we will have AP's, but we'd be limited to the 3 days unless they change the limit.

Hoping the renter gets back to Davids soon so I don't have to worry about this.

Hopefully the renter will fix the reservation.
As noted above, there are multiple reasons they need to be on the reservation.

Yeah, I checked MDE just now,...they added everyone except my mother, so back to Davids I go....

Just curious - if some of the guests weren't using APs and were just buying park tickets and making the park reservation, would it matter if they aren't on the DVC room reservation?

I'm reserving a studio for my Dad and his wife to stay in for 2 nights during our longer stay and renting points for one night. I put my name as primary and his name, I'll be on site and can check into the room for them. Assuming they will buy FL resident tickets and use those to make reservations, and I can use my MDE to make FP+ and dining reservations for them (assuming these things are all in play next March).
Would that work - same as if someone stayed offsite and just bought tickets?

I understand there are different park reservations for on site guests and offsite, but assuming capacity is back up.

It matters in the sense that having a DVC reservation allows them to access the resort reservation bucket for park reservations.

Now that capacity has been increased, I think it is probably less of an issue, but without that reservation, they would be seen as simply theme park guests and thus be eligible for booking based on that bucket.

Thanks for the response! That's what I thought but never sure if I'm missing another detail. Hoping it will be a non-issue by next year and we'll plan far enough in advance not to worry.

OP - hope you get it worked out soon, glad to hear David's is on top of it.
