I would like to purchase an Annual Pass using my DVC discount for my DD BUT here is the problem...

My 19 year old DD lives with me and visits with her Dad on weekends. Since her Dad pays for the car insurance and drives one of his cars her driver's license shows his address.

Is there any way that I can get the DVC discount for her since she lives with me 75% of the time? Her licesne would be the only thing that has her address. Does anyone have any thoughts for me???

Thanks

Mimmiepnp:)

Since she is over 18, without ID proving she lives at your address (i.e., driver's license or state ID), you won't be able to get her an AP at the DVC price.

I'm not sure if the rules allow associates to get their own DVC APs or not - but you might want to check into that. My DH is an associate, but since he is immediate family and lives at the same address, it never came up when we were buying APs.

No, associates are not entitled to receive any DVC perks or discounts. Legally, an associate is bascally an appointed business manager for your points.

Many adults don't drive and thus don't have a driver's license. Disney should be comfortable accepting other ID such as a passport along with residency proof including any utility bills, etc with her name and proper address. However, this is just an idea, I don't know from experience.

If it is good enough for Florida Resident APs, it should be good enough for the DVC APs.

Per chance does she have a student ID with her home address? This is am common occurrence when the kids are away at college and only home during breaks.

I think a student ID is probably your best bet. Since DVC requires legal ID, her drivers license is the legal ID they would be looking for. If she has a student ID with her home address, that might work....or a passport.

Thanks for the ideas. I will have to check to see if her passport has her address on it and I suppose that i can call MS and ask them. Her student ID does not have her address and since she does not have a utility bill to pay and the college bills have my name on them I will see what they say.

We are going for 14 days next year and I just thought that an AP would make more sense for her (I have one already but go much more than she does) and would give us the flexibility if we just want to go into EPCOT, especially since we are staying at BCV for the a portion of our split stay, just for dinner.

Thanks

More ideas, depending on how much time you have:

-If she has a passport or other official picture ID (passports do not have address info), you could also try:
-her signing up for a credit card at your address. The statements would help to show that she lives there.
-She could also sign up for a state hunting permit, or similar. These are not expensive and are often used to establish residency.

Also some states issue a photo ID for folks that don't have a driver's license. Another option might be her voter registration card.

Voter registration card; what a great idea!!! :thumbsup2 I have to ask if they will accept that. This is why I love these boards and my fellow DVC'ers.....

Here's the information from the member website:
Who is eligible to receive the Annual Pass discount?
Disney Vacation Club Members receive a discount on the Pass for themselves and their immediate family residing in the same household only. At the time of purchase or redemption, your Disney Vacation Club Member ID Card must be provided and ALL ADULTS must present a valid driver's license or state identification card showing they reside in the same household.

Looks like the only accepted forms of ID are a Driver's License or State Issued ID Card.

Hmmmm....

We have gotten our kids AP's every year without them being present or showing Id's. :confused3

We usually get them on our "Adult" only trips, so that when we go as a family at New Years we don't have to deal with the long lines at guest services.
