Question regarding point transfer rules

Just returned from a non-Disney vacation to read about all the angst regarding transfer of points. I have already made a ressie for a work colleague for April, 2007 using my Oct. 2006 points. She was going to rent points but was nervous so I said I would make a ressie for her and then buy a points transfer for my account on the rent/trade board. Is the rule once per USE year? So I could do my transfer between Oct 2006 and Sept 30, 2007? Or does it mean one transfer of 2006 points but the actual transfer can be whenever? Sorry this question is not better stated. As you can tell I really don't get this!

My understanding (FWIW), is once per use year, not calendar year.

It is one transfer per particular use year regardless of when the transfer is actually made.

Sorry to be so obtuse, but what you are saying is that I can make one transfer into or out of my 2006 points and it doesn't matter when, correct? So if I were to do a 2006 points transfer now or even next year it would still be considered my one time for 2006 points, correct? When you are as dense as I am about this it makes you wonder whether doing someone a favor is a good idea!
