I'm looking to purchase the DVC deluxe AP for $429 and upgrade it to a premium. Without DVC, the Disneyland deluxe AP is $499 and premium AP is $669. My question is do I pay $200 for the upgrade or do i pay $240? Thx for the help.

I'm already confused!

The DVC AP is $464 before tax.
The DVC premium is $484 before tax with the new offer

Premium allows you to go to WDW parks, water parks, Disneyquest and golf. All at WDW.

The pass that allows visitors to both WDW and DL is called the Premier pass.

So given all that, what pass are you trying to buy?

(PS -and I fully admit to not knowing the terms for DL APs or the pricing only the premier one for both coasts).

I apologize for the confusion but I'm actually looking at the Disneyland AP and not the Disney World AP discount for DVC members. DVC offers a $70 discount for a disneyland deluxe AP but no discount for the Premium. Since I go to Disneyland about 10 to 12 times a year, the cost of parking is worth the premium AP (premium includes free parking).

If DL upgrades work the same as WDW, you would pay the difference between $429 (promo price of DL Deluxe between 2/6 and 4/30) and $649 (DVC price for DL Premium).

I see now your title says Disneyland, I didn't see that the first time somehow!

If you plan to get a Premium Annual Passport at Disneyland, just buy it directly with the $20 DVC discount. There's no advantage to buying the special limited-time Deluxe Annual Passport, because Disneyland will only credit you exactly what you paid for the less expensive pass. You'd just be doing in two steps what you could easily do in one step.

Disneyland doesn't have any "bridging" rules you can use to get a better discount in this instance, as far as I can tell.

Thanks for answering my question. I was hoping for a DVC discount on the DL premium AP. Maybe next year...:thumbsup2

At WDW, the APs sold to DVC Members is a standalone pass category of WDW DVC Annual Passes.

At DL, the Annual Pass purchase is a DL AP with a discount and not a separate standalone pass. So therefore, if you look to upgrade the AP at Disneyland, the pass your purchased is actually the DL Deluxe AP with the current DL gate price...
