Question regarding AP/name on pass

Hi, I have searched the boards here and can't find an answer to my question - and for some reason calling Disney isn't really helping, I keep getting transferred to different people or told to call another number, no one seems to have an answer or maybe they just don't understand what my question is.

We bought one AP to get the discounted room rate on our stay next month. At the time, I put the reservation in my name and when I purchased the AP online at disneyworld.com I put in my name there as well. I received the exchange certificate in the mail and it has no name on it, but the paper it came with has my name on it and says I need to bring photo ID to activate it. After thinking about things a bit more we thought that it would be better for the AP to actually be in my husband's name since he is more likely to get down to FL on business than I am, he might actually be able to use it again. I called CRO and they said that the reservation was fine as far as it being in my name but the AP being in his, but what I'm wondering is if they are going to let him activate it in his name or if we are basically stuck with it in mine. You can give the unactivated vouchers as gifts right? I know the passes are not transferable but if they haven't been used yet then it is different isn't it? Or am I off base here?

I was just going to wait and see but now I'm trying to order the other two MYW passes we need online and it is asking me who is going to pick them up, I've heard these will have our names on them as well so now I'm worried that if I put my name on the order for the MYW pass that I'm going to be stuck with an AP and a 10 day hopper in my name and have to buy my husband a whole other pass. :earseek:

I'm worried I've got a problem here, but then I've been known to over-think things too. Planning for every contigency can be quite tiresome.

I believe that you can still use an AP with his name for a reservation in your name. I am not positive, but I'm pretty sure we've done this in the past....it's hard to remember though. I'm not sure about changing the name on the pass before hand, but that would be the only chance due to the non-transferrable thing. I guess you'll just have to keep trying to get someone on the phone to answer you?? You might try calling your hotel and asking them how to go about it.

The exchange certificate isn't in anyone's name- it doesn't matter who uses it. We got two of them- they weren't assigned to any particular person. Whoever wants to use it, just take it to guest relations with their i.d.- then the AP will officially be theirs. But until then, it doesn't matter.

You will be fine... take the exchange certificate to any Guest Relations at either the parks or DTD and they will make your exchange certificate into a ticket, complete with your name on it. You will need the certificate, your letter and your photo Driver's license. You will need to do this prior to checking in, so your best bet is to stop by DTD on your way in-- if no lines, it will take about 5 minutes. Guest Relations is open from 8:30 am until 11 pm in the Marketplace and from 9:30 am until 11:30 pm on the Westside. Guest Services at the resorts is unable to process this type of transaction.

Thanks very much everyone!

Now I've just got to wait for my email from ticketing about my MYW tickets, I ordered two tix online for will call and the order is "pending due to system unavailability" - it figures, LOL.

I think I'm down to 10 days away now! WOOHOO!!! :Pinkbounc
