Hi All, I'm hoping someone can answer my questions. I did a search and haven't found anything recent.

We are DVC Members who are also Annual Passholders. We have our big family trip booked for October. My daughter and I are also coming down to visit family in August so we planned to come over for a couple days to visit Toy Story Land. The August trip is under 60 days before the October trip and we don't have an onsite room booked as DVC was sold out already. Because I've booked FP for August (without an onsite room yet) we will not be able to book all our FP for October.

I am looking to book onsite but options are limited for short notice dates. I wanted to check if anyone knows if the Swan and Dolphin, or the Good Neighbor hotels count as onsite stays as far as not running into this 7-day limit. Can you book length of stay FP+ for multiple trips if you stay at these hotels? I am not trying to circumvent any rules, just trying to understand them. I know you can book these through the Disney website. I don't want to get to our 60 day window and find out the hard way.

Anyone have experience with this and can share?

Thanks so much!

If you're staying on disney property, then the 7 day limit of FP's in a 30 day period is overruled.

I don't stay on site so someone that does might have more info. But as far as I know as long as you have multiple stays on Disney property you can book for the lengths of your stays

The DSprings Hotels and Swan/Dolphin are considered onsite for FPs and EMH. The list of DSpring Hotels is on the Orlando Board.

Let me throw out this disclaimer though. The 7 day rule goes away for onsite stays, but, you will not be able to book any offsite FPs if you are over 7 days with onsite stuff. Ive tried. And I think its unfair. You should get all your onsite days PLUS 7 days if you do any off site.

Yep. Idk why they don't change it and allow you 7 days of FP's in the 30 day window outside of an on site stay. You can book say 5 days off site for next week, then 10 days on site 2 months out. But on the other hand you can book 10 days on site 2 months out, but then can't book 5 days off site. It should be two separate categories but it isn't

Thank you! Yeah my mom lives local so we don't really *NEED* to stay onsite but I don't want to ruin our bigger trip FP+ so they do put you in a pinch. I am adding the rooms to resolve this but would like to keep it affordable so I figured i'd check on the Disney Springs and Dolphin as alternatives.

I appreciate the responses!

Also, since you are a Disney Annual Passholder, I would also call the Swan/Dolphin reservation line in Florida (407 area code) and ask if they're running any AP discounts. I've done this a few times and saved a bunch of money. You do have to call the hotel directly, though, since Starwood's websites and global reservations lines can't see these AP promotions and wouldn't be knowledgeable enough about WDW to suggest it.

Once you make a reservation with Swan/Dolphin, it will take about 24-48 hours before the reservations are loaded into Disney's computers... but once that's done you can link your reservation number into MDE and you'll be all set to make FP+ reservations up to 60 days in advance.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! A DVC studio came available on points so I was able to book at Old Key West which should solve our issues and bonus I won't need to pay for parking LOL!

So, my mother just had this issue. We are dvc and AP holders. We are staying at old key west July 13-22. Then, her and my son are returning aug 27- sept 4 and staying at all star sports. They have FPs for 9 days in the first trip. When they went to make their FPS for the second trip, they were making their FPs out of order, were able to get them on sept 4 but not septn1 or 3, she kept getting an error. She finally called and they said she exceeded the number of days you could hold fast passes for within a certain period as an AP holder (guessing it must be 60 days) regardless of the fact that she has on site reservations for both trips. So she cannot make those FP ressies until we go on the first trip and some of those FP days are past. Doesn’t seem fair... and the CM said they have been getting a lot of complaints.

Oh no! That’s terrible to hear! Do you know how many days total she was able to make? Was it for the nine on the first trip and only one from the second trip?

This is exactly what just happened to me. Even though I had 11 days of onsite reservations within a few days of each other I was only allowed 7 days :( it sucked and completely negates having onsite reservations. I had to wait until the 30-day mark and even then I had to get a manager to try to do it for me. What a pain it was!

Let me add in case helps someone else:
I have AP and 10+ days of other park tickets. I still cannot book even 1 day offsite (if I have onsite FP booked). I.e., it doesn't matter that I have all those other active tickets too - the AP limit overrules.

She made 9 days for the first trip and then I believe it was 6 or 7 for the second trip; though when she called, the CM told her she wasn’t even supposed to have that many, so she said don’t change any of the days you have leave them as is for now. Since we are leaving early on the last day of our first trip , my son had made some FPS that we can’t use so over the weekend we just canceled those and she was able to book one more day’s worth for the second trip.

I think the AP restriction to seven days is horrible. I have and 13 day trip planned with 6 days onsite, 3 days at Universal , then 4 days on site. So only 7 days of FP+ even though I have 10 days on site. And no same day fastpasses until I start using them in day 4 so I could get SDD, FOP, 7DMT for my trip. I just wrote Disney pointing out that no same day fastpasses put me at a greater disadvantage than any other guest at the park. And no getting advance fastpasses just because you have a couple of days off site is ridiculous. I doubt that anything will change.

You should be able to book FP+ for all on-site days. You’ll just have to wait for that window to open.

I was able to book them today. Thanks. I should have realized that was the issue. Sorry. The CM had told me I was restricted to the 7 days but Disboarders are much more informed. Thanks again.

I am an AP holder and have always been able to book all my onsite days (over the 7) when staying onsite until our stay in May this year.
I had to contact Guest Relations and they had to override and book my FP+ for me.

I had 8 days in April and then 4 days in May (all onsite) and the system wouldn't let me book May so GR had to do it for me.

I see that the OP found a DVC studio, but just in case anybody else runs into this issue, I have an AP and a 9-day/8-nights stay at a DSprings hotel coming up, and I could only do 7 days of FP+. When I called GS, they said that the DSprings hotels do count as onsite for booking 60-day FP+ but do NOT count as onsite for AP override of the max of 7 days of FP+. I talked to 3 different GS cast members and got nowhere, although YMMV, of course. FWIW, the other 3 members of my party, who have regular 8-day tickets, were able to book FP+ for the entire stay at 60 days.
