Question re. Trader Sam's

I loved the ahi poke from here and would love to have it again BUT, the last time we ate there, the service was non-existent.

Does anyone know if I will be able to order take out instead?

I am always on the lookout for good poke but even a google search can't tell me what CCF is -- can you please spell it out?

I would agree there's much better poke out there including CCF but I was content with Trader Sam's version just cause it was offered there.

It was part of my meal there this past February as well, but I was disappointed by it. Not much flavor whatsoever.

Good presentation, pretty standard actually, about how it always comes, just lacking the flavor I'm used to.

side note, had no idea cheesecake was two words.. cheesecakefactory.com says it's one.. i was with the OP on wondering what the heck CCF was, thinking it was Carthay Circle F-something.. Fantasy? LOL.

and i concur that the service at Trader Sam's is nonexistent.. it's been that way for years. So is service at Cove Bar and many other establishments with alcohol with the exception of Club 33, Carthay Circle, Napa Rose and Steakhouse 55.. but those are known for things other than alcohol.

I've always had much better service at trader SAMs at the bar than at a table. We took our kids and sat at a table for 10 min. Numerous wait staff passed us. Never said one word to us. Finally someone gave us a menu. By that point my youngest got scared. So we left. Probably would have left anyway because we cant have super slow service with kids in tow. Lol. They are too impatient.

We've always eaten outside and have had great service. I know we've missed out on some of the fun items inside, but we just love being outside with our kiddos, live music, and tiki torches!

THIS! We experienced great service, great good, lovely live music & my daughter (12) was comfortable with the ambiance outside just this past week.

hmm. maybe the service has gone up. i haven't gone in months (like 6+) because it was just so horrible that i would never come back. i suppose its worth a 2nd chance.

It's also not a full service restaurant, so everyone maybe be coming in with different levels of expectation. I've found the service comparable to other bars, so don't have issues with it. Also, if I want to order a second drink, I'd have no problem getting up and going to the bar to order it, but I can see how if someone is there to eat lunch, it is not comparable to other TS places.

this is true, but i know that i've been to TSam's enough times to know that it varies. alfresco, carthay lounge, napa lounge, steakhouse 55 lounge, hearthstone all have better service than tsam's. the only one comparable in "service" is cove bar. though.. the ones i listed are "lounges" so idk how that could possibly make a difference..

Oh...on our first visit the service was quite lacking! & then our server went on a break without telling us. That was in Oct of 2012. On this trip was had a lovely gentlemen serving us that was very attentive. I'd suggest trying again however I suppose it will depend on who's working that day?
