Question re switching promos

Hi there
Our family booked the stay play dine promo, but just decided to upgrade hotels and go with the room only discount. Can I transfer our deposit over to the room only reservation or do I have to cancel and rebook since the first spd reservation was a package?

The s/p/d package will have to be cancelled/refunded and the RO booked, requiring a new deposit equal to 1 night's room rate + tax. Room only and packages are different reservation systems, so money paid toward one cannot be applied to the other.
