Looking at the "official" diagram of the room layout for studios at the AK Villas, it looks like the front door opens right into the kitchen area. Is this accurate, and if so, have any of you who have stayed in one found it awkward?

Other than OKW, all of the studios I have stayed in at WDW have that small open area just inside the door where you can take off your shoes, hang your jacket, and drop your bags or your luggage. Since it looks like this area isn't there at AKV, those square feet have gone somewhere else - is the restroom a lot bigger? Or the "main area"?

Looking at the diagram is fine, but I realize that it's not the same thing as actually being there.

Just to clarify - I'm referring to the full 360+ foot rooms, as opposed to the value rooms, which I know are about the same size as the Coronado Springs rooms.

Thanks for any feedback here. If there's an existing thread, references are welcome. (I went back through about four pages and didn't find one.)

Edit - well, a bit of a retraction - the floorplan I saw is for the Kidani Village rooms, in which none of us has yet stayed, so there's no way to answer the question.

But since the Jambo House studios don't have the "entry area" but are still about the same size as at BCV, VWL, and SSR, I'm guessing that the other parts of the room *are* larger in some way - that part of my question remains.

We stayed in a 2BR lock-off in February. There was an "entry way" in the studio side. The kitchen didn't start until past the connecting door. We were in 5307-5309 (5309 was the studio).

Thanks, you were probably posting your reply while I was doing my edit - I realized that my question only applied to the layout at Kidani Village, not the existing studios at Jambo.
