Hi everyone,
I am just about ready to purchase a resale but am hoping that by the time it all goes through which could be the end of July, that I could use my points for a stay this Spetember I am planning. I am wondering if anyone has tried to get a ressie this Spetember and if there is even any availability and where. Just curious if I should be hopeful that I can get in or make a plan B. I am pretty flexible with the dates and would also be wanting a 1 bedroom. Thanks for all your help!

You'll certainly be a little late in the game, but September is one of the slowest months of the year because the kids are back in school, it's hot, and it's peak hurricane season.

You should be okay if you are flexible about where you stay. BWV and BCV will be tough during F&W, but you should be okay in other resorts.

Plan B would be to take advantage of whatever discounts you can get on regular rooms (i.e. non-DVC), and try to pair those with Free Disney Dining Plan.

I've done solo trips in Sept and have booked 6 weeks to a month out and have got a studio.
SSR usually has availability.

We bought our resale last year at about the same timeframe, and had the same ?. We closed around July, and we were able to get a 1bd at BWV and SSR. We could have gotten the entire week at either, but decided to do a split stay so we could check out both resorts.
We went the first week of Sept, which is an especially slow time with the kids going back to school. When we checked in at SSR, they said they were nowhere near capacity.
I think that if you're flexible with time and where you're willing to stay, you may be okay.

BTW, we also had CRO reservations as a back up as we were booked for free dining. We were hoping we would be in the system soon enough so that we would not get the penalty that they charge for cancelling too close to your check in day. I forget how many days out it was. We missed the deadline, but when dh called to cancel, and expected to be told about the penalty, they were so excited for us to have joined DVC, that they waived the penalty. :cool1:

One thing different this September compared to normal Septembers of several years ago, is that Disney has been offereing the free dining package which in turn has raised the crowds a little. But the biggest impact I've heard is with all the free dining, if you don't get ADR's for certain restaurants, you won't get in as all available seating is reserved ahead of time by all those free dining package guests.

So if you plan on eating at the Disney restaurants you may really want to be sure to make ADR's, just to play it safe. This would be especially true for a place like Le'Cellar at Canada.
