Hi everyone, We're getting closing to making a booking. Now looking at the first two weeks in December, staying at the Dolphin and flying with Virgin. Does the Magical Express stop there? The "transport" page here seems to say that it doesn't. Also, can you use the twilight check in at Gatwick if you book direct with Disney, or is it just for Virgin Holidays? Also on the way back, can you check in at DTD iF you've booked direct with Disney? :surfweb:

The Magical Express does not service the Swan and Dolphin because they are not Disney hotels.

You can use Twilight Check In. Our trip last year was booked with Disney Travel Company but with Virgin flights and we used it. It's actually a really good perk because you can off load your stuff and there is no rush in the morning!

You can do DTD check in BUT you have to pay $10 per person if you're not a Virgin Holiday customer.

Thanks Mr. Romance. I've just had another look at WDTC website and found that you can't even book the flight with the Dolphin as a package. Do you just book them separately? How do you get from Orlando Airport to the Dolphin if we're not hiring a car and they don't include Magical Express? I priced up the holiday last night and it worked out £900 cheaper with WDTC. I realise now that they didn't include the flight on there, but it seemed to :rolleyes1

We have used Tiffany Towncar several times when not hiring a car. Excellent service which I would recommend. At the moment it's $115 with a $5 off coupon (you do need to add a tip onto that) round trip. That's for a car big enough for four suitcases.

Thanks Scoobydooby. That's useful to know. We might just go with Virgin in that case. Only Disney could make you pay £4k for a two week onsite holiday and still make you feel like a poor relation.

It's because Swan and Dolphin are hotels on Disney property, but they are not actually Disney's hotels. Did you specifically want the Dolphin? WDTC is offering 30% off rooms in their own hotels now that the free dining has ended. You wouldn't get the option of the dining plan with the Dolphin even if the free dining offer was still active anyway.

Hi, we have friends going at the same time and they've already booked the Dolphin so it made sense to stay there as well. Will have a look at the others, though. Hadn't realised there was 30% off - sounds more like it :rotfl:

Are you dead set on the Dolphin? If so, then look at getting a town car service as others have suggested. If you're open to other options consider staying on-site where you know you can get the Magical Express. It's not something that has ever affected us because we always drive, but if you are not comfortable with hiring a car, then staying on-site is definitely your best option.

Our friends are staying at the Dolphin at the same time as we are there, plus with walks to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios it seems a good option. Virgin Holidays works out about £600 cheaper than WDTC today. On Monday their website wasn't showing any discount for me. Virgin will transport to the Dolphin so I think that's the best option - today at least :rotfl2:
