Will be going (back) to DW with DD, DSIL and DGS in Feb :) . DD and DSIL are Fl residents. Can the hotel (AKL) be booked under their name for FL resident discount, but I would be the one paying for it. I know the way to get around it, if need be , would be for me to pay cash, but really wanted to charge it. Would they (WDW) accept my cc, with NY address, for payment, if rooms were reserved under DSIL's name? Thanks, Karen PS : Already have rooms booked with a code and don't want to call and change the ressie, to FL resident code, until I hear from my Dis friends. I trust your info and knowledge more than I do that of some of the CM's. Thanks again

I believe (anyone jump in if I'm wrong) that the FL Resident rate works the same way as the AP Holder Rate. As long as one person who is staying in your room is a FL Resident, you can utilize that rate.

Very Important: The FL Resident must be present with you at check-in and must show proof of state residency (driver's license).

Make sure that you call well in advance to modify your existing reservation to the FL Resident rate. You will not be able to modify at check-in.

You should have no problem paying the balance of the room charge with your credit card.

Hope this helps.

ThanksPLuto4 Me, I've been checking back to this post every few minutes since I first posted, waiting to get a reply. Didn't want to call CRO to change anything before I got the word from a fellow Disser. ;)

:teeth: Just want to let you know that I called CRO and was able to get FL resident code for my dates, 2/5/05 to 2/12/05. Saved $200 :teeth: . However, I did want to relate that at first the CM said, "no, I'm not showing anything available for your dates with the Fl resident code". I then asked him if he could check if we could get the Fl res code for 2/5 to 2/9 (read on Mousesavers that 2/10 to 2/12 might be hard to get with a code), and that I would keep the 10th to the 12th with the original code I had booked with. So, he checks again and say "ahhhh, I can get you the whole stay with the Fl resident code". GREAT, but if I had not asked him to try it another way and check for 2/5 to 2/9 for Fl res code I just would have believed the first thing he told me ,which was that my needed dates were not available with the FL res code. So on checking again, not just part of the stay was available, but the entire stay was, which was what I had first asked for. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that I got a better price, but just making the point that you can't always take the first thing that a CM tells you as gospel. Anyway, thanks for the help, Karen:wave2:

Hi Karensi:

So glad things worked out! Thanks to these boards, I too know not to always take the first answer you are given when trying to make reservations.
