Question re: banked points

Hi,
I am a newbie on this board. Can someone help me with this question:
I am contemplating a resale. It has 150 points, Feb UY. 58 points available now and 150 more points for Feb 08.
1) Should I ask the seller to bank the 58 points?
2) If the points are banked, and I get the contract, then decide to make a reservation for next July, will MS use the 58 banked points first, then use the 2008 allotment?
3) If I call MS in September and try to make the reservation, would I be "Borrowing points" to make the July reservation?
4) Should I or the seller pay the MF for 2007?

You could, but seeing that there is less then 50% of the points left you have some time.

MS should used the 58 points first, that is common practive. But mistakes can be made. But yes to this question.

Since your reservation would be in July of 08 you would be in that UY. So no you would not be borrowing to make that reservation. Remember its not when you make the reservation its when you travel.

4) Should I or the seller pay the MF for 2007?

I would assume that the MF may be already paid unless the owner is on a monthly payment cycle. This would be part of your negotions for the contract.

Thanks, Brownie. Can I please get clarification for the above? Also, if I make a reservation for travel in January, then would I need to borrow points?
