Question on the Mousefest Event

Let's see... A community of obsessive planners, who live to focus on 180 day pre-deadlines for "First come first served" ADRs, who create spreadsheets, strategic park plans, crowd level estimates, work to find any advantage,

Then you dangle the COOLEST THING EVER in front of this horde with an uncertain time that the ROPE WILL DROP...

Panic?? Us???

Pass the chocolate J-Kim

OK, I've got FF miles, DVC points, Annual Pass, I can use DME back and forth to the airport. I can do a quick trip down, leave Friday afternoon and come home Sunday night..................can I get into the koolest party of the year????

I'll pass the chocolate after its' bribery value has been determined... ;)

Not to be an enabler but...

Southwest is having a 50% off sale on Airfare for Buffalo. :thumbsup2

http://www.southwest.com/hotfares/buffalo.html

You could fly down Friday and back Sunday for less than $150 RT. :thumbsup2

I'm just sayin'... ;)
OMG! You are such an enabler. OK, I need to look at Southwest now. Oooh, $574 for 4 RT tix for the weekend, but I have to book by tomorrow.

For I person I have yet to meet, you sure are costing me a lot of money. Hush money for what goes one during the Podcast Cruise, payment for not having Podcast Cruise pictures appear on the Dis, now $$$ for chocolate. You better be worth it!!!!!

In the words of Lenny Haise (Steve Zahn in "That Thing You Do") Hey - I make NO guarantees!!

I would never charge you for chocolate. I was suggesting DU/Podcast members like, say, John and Kevin, might be susceptible... :Teeth:

Heck, Kathy, I'm not even sure yet WE'RE (Susan and I) gonna make the cut...

Another question. . .

Is this event going to be advertised elsewhere in an official way (e.g. the official Mousefest site) before sign-ups start? This event is, as you have said yourselves, very cool and unique. With Mousefest as popular and big as it now is, this party is sure to be filled to capacity.

I understand if this is an advertising method. Sort of. But I am also just wondering if all the other hundreds of non-DISer Mousefest registrants (and non-registrants) are going to also be waiting to pounce on the slots, thus potentially preventing some of the most loyal of us from attending?

I got the feeling registration would open up to us before they put it on the official Mousefest site, but I'm not sure why I am thinking that.

Also, I am all for the more the merrier, I promise, but quit talking other dis'ers into going. THEY MIGHT TAKE A SPOT FROM ME!! And I have been planning on going for months now. Plus, I am not getting to do the Podcast Cruise, so this is my only chance to meet the Crew for a while.

I think I am going to have to change my California Grill reservation. It is at 8pm on the day of the DisUnplugged Mousefest event and I don't think I can get to the studios before 9pm (Though we will tale a cab as it's quicker). I hope there are earlier reservations available or I will have to try and change the date we try this restaurant. Though that all depends on if I can get registered for the event as well :)
We will be changing our as well!!! Ours was at 9pm for our 7th wedding anniversary, but we rather spend our anniversary with a thousand of our closest friends anyway!!!!! What a great way to Celebrate, see you there!!!!

Once in the park you can go to Osborne lights and then make your way to event but no one will be permitted in the event area until Disney has finished their set-up for the event.

John

Will Disney keep the light show going even though the park is closed? Could this party get any more amazing, or what?!

MenashaCorp
I think I'm going to need some of that chocolate :flower3: ! Not that I'm panicking or anything, no not me! I'm dancing....:dancer: yeah, that's it!

I'm so pleased the Dis is having a representation at Mousefest. We went on the Mousefest cruise last year and also to a couple of Mousefest land meets afterwards. Whilst I knew some of the groups there, I felt lonely without the Dis!!!

Hoping to get on the list as well once sign-ups start. My DS5 is such a HUGE Buzz Lightyear fan. He would be in heaven to get to do this. We always have to stop EVERY time we see Buzz MGM or MK! And I'd love to meet everyone! :dance3:

Are you in??? For sure???

Wah, wah, wah... after talking things over with DW, we decided that we should be responsible adults and save our money. While yes, we can get a good deal on the flight down, it's still $600 + the 2 nights of room charges and food, it will still end up costing alot of money to go down just for essentially one day. It just doesn't make financial sense for our family right now - especially with needing to save money for the holidays. I'm bummed about this, but I look forward to hearing about the party.

Mindy, you have no idea how bad I want to go.

I will be home from France. If I can get a DVC ressie for the nights of the 12th and 13th, and a plane ticket with FF miles, I'll hopefully be meeting up with the DATW group sometime Friday.

Oh yea, hopefully I won't be standing on the wrong side of the velvet ropes!

Don't worry Dave, I have a feeling that this won't be the last big cool party the podcast crew throw, yeah :thumbsup2 ! Hope to see you at the next one (meaning I hope to be at the next one too ;) !) and good for you for not putting your family in major hock for the sake of a party, however cool it's going to be :flower3:.
