i have read posts where they use snack credits for yummy pastries etc....when i was reading my vouchers they specifically mentioned what they could be used for...
it listed popcorn
pop
water
popsicles
any frozen treat
one piece fresh fruit
bag of chips

it doesnt mention pastries/cookies etc......did it change or i can use them for bakery items too?
thanks

You definitely want to check out this thread. It's not an official list, but jjohnson works VERY hard to keep it up to date with the latest experience of board members who come back to share what they got with a snack credit.

(It does update frequently, so I'd keep a close eye on it if there's something particular that you're looking for)

I believe, right now, you can use it for most of those items, and you can generally use it for almost any item under $4. Something in my gut tells me that this may change in 2011. There are many good bakery items that are priced around $3.99.... I suspect that the price might rise a bit, and then no longer be covered. Or perhaps the DDP may just stop covering them regardless.
There are recent reports, for example, the the ice cream cookie sandwich from Main Street Bakery is no longer covered. Disney seems to be cutting back on the meal plan on a continuous basis, so I could see them cutting off coverage of these "premium snacks," knowing that lots of people on the DDP would be willing to pay extra for them anyway.

There is concern every year that the DDP will severely limit snacks, but it's not happened yet. Actually, the changes generally seem to happen in September. Last year it was the Make Your Own snacks at Goofy's, and this September it looks like the ice cream cookie sandwiches are a thing of the past.

It's possible that Disney might change the plan greatly, but no one person's 'gut feeling' is better than the next person's. (Including mine  )

Anyway, take a look at this years confirmed snacks, and you can look at the prior years as well to see what the differences have been.

When you get to Disney most snack items are marked with a purple and white DDP symbol, so you can easily spot what is and what isn't a snack credit. If you ever have a question, you can always ask a CM. :goodvibes

As always, thanks to jjohnson and her tireless effort keeping that list current.

I believe what the vouchers indicate is what items "can" be purchased with a snack credit. The list is far too long to fit on the brochure. The choices are wide and varied, and in most cases clearly marked with the ddp snack logo. A few weeks ago, the brownie sundae at Mrs. Potts was still a choice. YUMMY!
