Question on return trip to airport via Magical Express

I’m going to be making my first trip to Disney World in a weeks time. I know the process for coming from the airport to the resort via the Magical Express but had a question regarding the day it’s time for me to leave the resort and head back to the airport.

How does the Magical Express know what time to pick me up from the resort to take me to the airport? Can I get on it early in the morning on check-out day at any time I want or do I have to schedule a particular pick-up time?

You give Magical Express your departing flight information and they schedule your departure pick up from your resort hotel about 3 hours before your plane is scheduled to leave.

You will receive paperwork at your resort room the day before you depart, which will give the time to be at the Magical Express location for pick-up. It us usually 3 hours before your flight.
(You give them your flight # info when you book Magical Express)

Yes, make sure DME has your departing flight info before you even arrive. The day prior to your check out day, they will leave a paper in an envelope hanging on your room door. It was there prior to 8am the day before our check-out on our last trip in October. It will tell you your pick up time, and you will need to provide the DME driver with this paper to board. Pick up time is generally 3 hours (+/- 15 mins) prior to your flight time for domestic flights.

Not to hijack this thread, but I have a concern. Due to changing flights, we had not yet provided our flight information to ME. We recently got our "final" confirmation email from Disney about our upcoming vacation. It lists no flight times for ME.

Do I need to call, or can I just show up on our arrival day and catch a bus? And can I give them our pickup upon arrival as well?

On arrival, just show up. Since you’re already in the system, it won’t be an issue. On your return trip, you’ll want to make sure they have your flight info.

I have a weird question. Never did ME before. I have a one night reservation booked through a DVC owner at GFV lake view followed by 5 nights standard view. There are two different reservation numbers. The standard was booked first night and he has put us on wait list. If he secures standard view and I now have a different reservation number for my first night; but my flight hasn’t changed or that I am still going to Grand Floridian do I need to fix incoming reservation number on ME info or will I be fine?

I'd make sure they have the correct reservation #s for both reservations. You need a reservation # to use ME.
