Hi,
I 'm sorry if this is a naive question. Just researching for a possible 1st trip to Disneyland. I've been reading alot of posts about 'huge' crowds due to
returning AP holders. Can someone explain what that means?
Thanks!

Sure :)

Certain AP's (SoCal & Deluxe AP's) have blackout dates. So after a long blackout period (esp. applies to the SoCal pass where they are blocked out the entire month of July) everyone rushes into Disneyland. So all those AP holders that haven't been able to use their passes flock to DL at once and it creates huge crowds. You can see the AP blackout dates on disneyland.com. :goodvibes

In recent years, it has become quite popular for many people, particularly Southern Californian Residents, to purchase Disneyland Resort Annual Passports, valid for a year's worth of admission to the Theme Parks of the Disneyland Resort, in order that they may visit the Parks more often.

This has been driven by many promotions that have offered cheaper Passports to Southern Californians, as well as Monthly Payments.

Recently, it has come to the point that a large number of Disneyland Resort Guests on any given day are Annual Passport holders. As such, on days when Annual Passports, particularly the cheaper ones issued to Southern Californians, are blocked out for Admission, this has a significant effect on Theme Park Attendance Levels. The opposite is also true, with periods immediately preceeding and after long blockout periods (Summer, etc.) being very busy.

Thank you so much for that quick response! That explains it. I will be checking the link for sure! :)
