Question on Resale Closing Timeframe

Hello,
My wife and I recently passed ROFR on 10-26 and we're now just waiting for closing to become official members. My question is for those of you who have done resale purchases recently. I was wondering what the timeframe was between passing ROFR and the actual closing paperwork getting to you and then the closing being finalized after that. I have to be honest, between the ROFR and the closing all this waiting is driving us crazy..lol. WE REALLY WANT TO MAKE THAT 1ST RESSIE SOOOOOOOOO BAD. I realize everyones case is different but I just wanted to get some actual times from some people who have gone through it.
PS- We bought our DVC through The Timeshare Store and we couldn't have been happier with the service and handholding we received to this point but now it is in the closing company's hands so I can't bother them anymore...for now lol

I bought 2 resales, one from the The timeshare store and one from another firm. Both were very good but they don't set the time. I understand it all depends on the volume of sales at the time. Both of my resales took about 6 weeks.

Is that 6 weeks from ROFR to closing or from signing original contracts to closing?

Ours was 2 or 3 weeks after we passed ROFR.

Ours was 8 weeks from initial offer to absolute finish/received the filed deed in the mail. It took us 6 weeks from initial offer to when we were in the system and could make reservations.

We had good service from the Timeshare Store, but the closing agent left MUCH to be desired. We had at least 2 problems that have held our contract up, and they could both have easily been avoided if they had paid more attention to detail.

My best advice to you is to stay in frequent contact with both entities during your process so nothing falls through the cracks. I found that their communication leaves a little to be desired.

We had good service from the Timeshare Store, but the closing agent left MUCH to be desired.

We had the same experience with the closing agent, which is a completely different company from TTS. However, most of the time things go smoothly. I think this is more of an intermittent problem than the rule.

To some degree, the closing depends on how motivated/responsive the sellers are. Sometimes they take a lot longer to sign the paperwork and send it back than anyone thinks it's going to take. Occasionally there are complications -- like multiple owners needing to sign documents, etc -- and other times, they are simply on vacation or something. That's where contact with TTS is very helpful.

Once you close, it will take about 10 business days before you'll be fully "in the system" and able to make ressies. But keep in mind that for the next 35 years or so, you'll be able to make ressies any time you want!

We had our paperwork emailed to us in less than10 days. They got our check on Monday and I got word on Friday that we had closed.The email said to wait 10-14 days until we call Disney. Email really speeds up the process.
