Question on renting strollers?

I know you can rent them for length of stay, but if I'm staying say 5 nights but only getting a 3 day hopper pass, can I do a lenght of stay of 3 days or do you have to do it for the 5 days? Obviously if I'm only going to the parks for 3 days I wouldn't want to pay for the other 2.

Just curious on how it actually works.

thanks

I don't think it really matters. When you first go to rent a stroller, just tell them you want to purchase multiple days in advance. I believe you will get a ticket for each day that you have purchased (at a discount price) so the next time you go to get a stroller, you just hand them the pre-paid ticket. Don't forget to save you receipt each day, too, so if you park hop or return later you only pay for a stroller once a day.

this is correct.
we done it on our last trip. just tell them how many days you want to purchase

The stroller rental CMs don't want to see or swipe your park ticket and they don't need to. You just tell them how many days' rental you want. You'll pay for it all up front minus a 10% discount. They'll give you a strip of paper tickets stapled to your receipt. Don't lose those tickets, because they are NOT replaceable. If you lose 'em, you'll have to pay to replace 'em. If it wasn't that way, it would be WAAAY to easy for someone to say they lost their tickets, get free replacements, then sell the originals or the replacements.

The stroller rental place at each theme park has two lines, what I'll call the "pay" line and the "stroller" line. When you pay for your multiple day tickets, get in the pay line. Once you receive the tickets, take one to the stroller line (you don't need to detach it from the strip, and I'd recommend you don't, to promote not losing it). At the front of the stroller line, the CM will date-stamp one of your tickets, give you a large card to write your name on, and give you a stroller. You place the card into a plastic sleeve on the back of the stroller, to aid in identification (pretty impossible to tell one rental stroller from the next!).

When you return your stroller, you can hand in your date-stamped rental ticket for a crisp Disney Dollar. BUT, if you're returning to the park that day or if you're hopping to another park later in the day, don't hand in your date-stamped ticket -- you'll need it to get your next stroller later that day. Actually, I never turned in my rental tickets until my last day and when I handed them all in I got a whopping six Disney Dollar windfall.

We never took the writing our last name on the card too seriously. Each time, we had the kids pick a character name and I wrote that on the card. One time we were Buzz, one time we were Goofy (well, we're ALWAYS Goofy :goofy: ), etc. If you don't turn in your date-stamped ticket when you return your stroller, it's kinda funny when the CMs tell you to take your name card with you to use at the next park. Yeh, like I'm going to bother carrying it from park to park, like I can't make another one!

When you get another stroller ANY TIME AFTER YOUR INITIAL RENTAL, totally skip the pay line and go right to the stroller line with another unstamped ticket. Skipping the pay line is the other advantage to multiple-day rentals, beyond the 10% discount.

Just wanted to add that during peak times, they don't sell the multiple day passes. We wanted to get it when we were there last July 2-8 but they told us they couldn't do it. Have a great trip!

We were there last April (peak time) and we got the mutli day rental!!! Loved it!

When we were there last July we were told they didn't do multiple day rentals. However in January we did do the multiple day rentals and the CM there told me they always do them, that the CM who told us they didn't was just mistaken!

We asked in all four parks about the multi day rentals and were told the same thing...just another example of discrepancy among the ranks LOL

PS I did ask WHY? and was told that when attendance is so high, they don't like to do them because they run out of strollers quicker. Just passing along what I was told :)

I didn't know you would get a dollar each time you returned your stroller if you give them your date-stamped ticket. I have all my tickets from when I went in October. I wonder if I'll get the $$ when we go back (I also didn't use all of my stroller rentals) in December?! :confused3

Thank you for all of this useful info. We are going in August and since our DD is 5 and DS is 2 we will be renting a double stroller for our entire 7 day stay. I did not know we would get the disney dollar for our tickets and was trying to find out exactly how the week long rental would work. Good luck to you all and happy traveling.

Another stroller tidbit:

If you have any unused stroller rental tickets, you can get a full refund for them at the stroller place. Wish I'd known that one before I came back to NJ. I eventually sold my extra one on eBay, but I didn't get back what I paid for it.

I have absolutely no clue if you can get Disney Dollars back for "old" date-stamped tickets. My guess is yes, based only on common sense and not any Disney rules. It would seem to me that you're not cheating them, you're just getting money promised to you in the past. But like I said, I'm totally ignorant of any rules about this.

From what I've heard, the reason they offer the one Disney Dollar refund when you return your stroller is it helps them contain costs (plus aids guest safety by not having a lot of obstacles around the park, especially at closing time). If you just left your stroller wherever, they'd have to pay a lot of CMs to spend a lot of time collecting abandoned strollers, versus having most of the strollers brought back to the barn.
