My family is going to Disney in March 2004. I have a 4 and 2 year old and would like to do a character dining at either the Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's. I know I should make a PS on these but I don't like to have set dates to be at each park. We kind of take it day by day when we are there and decide where to go depending on the weather and how the kids are doing. What are the chances of making PS reservations the same day. I'm looking more for a lunch or dinner and the time doesn't matter. Any input would be great. Thanks.

Well, when we were there in Aug 2 yrs ago, we didn't make any PS ahead. We were able to get a PS for Chef Mickey's, but not for several days. We also got a "less favorable" time, 7:30 am. So after b/f we had an hour to kill before the parks open.

I'd really advise making just 1 or 2 PS's ahead. For those 2, if you don't show up there is no charge. I believe March is one of the busier months.

And just because you have b/f at MK or close, you don't have to spend the day there. We nearly always do more than 1 park per day. If you have b/f, it's easy to hop on the monorail for Epcot or something. If you're at Chef Mickey's, there are buses to MGM & AK.
