Question on personalizing designs

I have read Dolly's great instructions on personalizing designs in MS Word, unfortunately I don't have MS Word - my Mac has Pages as its word processing program. Anyone have directions or know how to personalize blank designs using Pages? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
