After having read many threads on poeple staying at one DVC resort and moving to another I have a question. If I were to stay lets say 9 days and four of those days were at OKW and then other 5 were at BWV will Disney move my bags or do I need to find a way? Really curious as we have debated on doing this split stay between resorts.

Yes they will move your bags from any Disney resort, to any Disney resort. Just call Bell Services.

We have done this and it is really easy. Just tell bell services the new resort and go have fun. When you check into your new room later that day call bell services and tell them you had luggage transferred.

We tip a bit more at both ends for this service.

I wasn't aware that Disney would do this. Thanks for the info.

We just got back on Sunday, and did exactly what you are thinking of doing; stayed 4 nights at OKW, then 4 nights at BWV.

We checked out of OKW early, left our luggage at Bell services, telling them that we were going to BWV. We then took the bus to MGM, took the boat to BWV, and checked in at BWV. After going to Epcot, we went back to BWV at 4pm, and our room was ready.

About 10-15 minutes later, our luggage was delivered including our bag of refrigerated items. Very easy!

I can't believe we're home again so soon!!!

Have any of you done this going from one of the value resorts to BWVs? We'll be doing that and we'll have groceries too!! Will they move my grocery bags??

It is my understanding that they will move grocery bags as well.

We had some perishibles and were moving from BCV to AKL. While we were shopping at Publix we saw that they had a good sized cooler for $3 so we bought that, moved the perishibles ourselves (wanted to make sure they were kept cool) and used it for the 3 nights we were AKL so there was no need to rent a fridge there.

goofy4tink, I wondered this too.
We're staying at pop century the first and last nights of our stay. I've asked recently about luggage transfer on this board, but value to deluxe? I just read that Pop Century has limited bell services and expect to wait for help. I also saw you need to call the night before for help in the morning. I'm thinking we might end up packing a smaller bag for those two nights.

Anyone think our luggage is somewhat safe in the car at Pop Century and MGM parking lots?

We have transferred luggage from AS to DVC without a problem. You do need to have them pick it up by10:00 am so it can make it to your next resort by 4:00. We called the morning of our transfer, but they probably would prefer a call the night before. We'll be doing this from PC next week when we transfer to OKW.

FWIW, if you don't want to haul a bulky cooler for your groceries but want something better than those lovely, wafer thin plastic bags for grocery transport, SAM's Club sells freezer bags that keep stuff nice and cold. I recall the price at 5 to 7 bucks, but they are meant for repeated use. They are fairly large and best of all, once your stuff is safely stowed in the fridge, they fold up flat for the next trip! (They are great just left in the back of your car to preserve your frozen stuff from the grocery store to home during the hot summer months, as well! Multi-purpose! :) )

Rubbermaid bins work great for the dry goods and small stuff. Some folks worried that those would look cheesy -- but personally, I felt very organized with my stuff in stackable bins... unlike the embarassment I felt pulling up to VWL when we had the oodles and oodles of slippery plastic top-knotted bags -- there's just no good way to stack THOSE on a cart! And having a six-pack clearly dangling from our cart was, well, let's call it what it was -- tacky. The grocery bags are so thin, you can see straight through them to whatever is in there (Coronas and limes, yup, that's our cart!) (I suppose I should be thankful it was beer and not some sort of personal product!) :earseek:

For nonrefrigeratored items and snacks, we pack them in fairly inexpensive wheeled suitcases from Kmart or Walmart. Works great and checkin is so easy. We do not worry about thin bags and groceries falling out. We drive and fill up the suitcase before we leave. Then once it is empty, we have room for all of the goodies from WDW to carry home.
