Question on minimum purchase at BCV.

I was just looking and I think I saw the minimum purchase is 160 points. My question is if we can't do that but we can do between 100 to 130 do you think disney would allow that. if not do you think they would suggest another home resort? I was told it was $115 per point I just emailed him to see if they were anyincentives this month still waiting to hear.

Last year we joined DVC with 100 points at BLT. We liked it so much this year we got 125 more!

Disney has been allowing members to buy in with less than 160 so I think you should have no problem getting Disney to give you the amount you want.

BCV is one resort that seems to hold its value, compaired to the others. You can always ask about lesser points but don't be suprised if there are no points for the UY you want. They can put you on a waiting list for the UY and then you just wait. I don't think DVC deals are sold out resorts.

There won't be any discounts purchasing BCV directly from DVC. The best discount is resale. And then you don't have to worry about any point minimum - just finding a contract that works for you.

Sounds like you are new to DVC completely. You would definitely benefit from buying resale (waaaaay less money) and since you are open to any use year, you will be able to find a BCV contract easily. For those of us with hard to find use years (Sept at BCV is elusive!), we have to buy from Disney direct even for an add on. Katherine

We added on at BCV last summer through Disney after tiring of waiting for the right contract with our use year to show up on the resale market. Called our guide from the pool while we were at BCV and were able to do it over the phone, no waitlist. Plus, we got 2010 points, too!

I recently went direct through disney for BC, there were a few options in UY. I was able to get a Sept. UY, which is what I was looking for. I did look at the resale market, but couldnt find what I wanted. Nothing is final yet, Im waiting for closing. The extra cost for going direct worked out for me, IMO, because I had already have two seperate trips planned this year and was able to cancel those reservations and re-book using the 2010 pts. I purchased more than the 160, so I guess I cant answer your question about buying less, but it never hurts to phone them and just ask?
