DW asked last night if we will need the MB to get into the Comfort Stations at the Fort or do they still issue id cards? Also how about getting back into the fort from the back gate? The last time we were there, you had to put your card in the reader for the gate to open or wait for a bus to go first.

Late July the CS and gate still requires a card.

We will be back at the fort a week from today the 23rd of Oct and I can update you on the CS

We were at the Fort Oct 4 to Oct 12. Magic Band did NOT work to get back in via the Security station or the back gate. We tried using it on 4 occasions and it failed. Disappointing! We had to go into the outpost and get cards to use for rest of our stay (they did not provide cards at check in). CM said bands work sometimes, although we didn't find they worked for us at all. We did not use / try comfort stations with bands.

:confused3 Back Gate????

The back gate is where the buses come in and out at the end of the overflow parking lot. It is a lot easier to come and go out of that gate then the front one by the security guard for us.

Was not aware that entry was possible at that location. When did they make it available to guests?

I am pretty sure I remember using it often about 5 years ago when the kennel was still there.

Just a few weeks ago I thought I saw a sign that read something like, WDW Busses Only, for the overflow lot entrance. Exiting is a different story.

always used the main gate since the bus gate as far as I know is for busses only now.

We've used both entrances in the past, and have not noticed a sign. Other cars were using what we call the back gate ... near overflow lot too. We found out they were utilizing a card and not a band to get in. We tried the band and ended up with a blinking red light, so DH pressed the button to get attention from a person inside outpost. They opened the "gate" and then I went in and got a card. That's when I was told the bands work sometimes. Also the security guard at the other entrance told us the same... bands don't always work. Hope they take care of this soon. Don't want to be the only resort juggling cards and bands to get in.
