Question on guest names with multiple rooms

Hi all,

We’re planning a large family trip in November at BWV with various parties and multiple rooms. Rooms have all been booked, most in my name for now.

My question has to do with whether I can put the same name on more than one room and/or whether we can put names on a room for “part“ of the reservation. As an example, my niece and her friend will be in a studio for 4 nights while we’re also in a 2BR bedroom for 6 nights. If the wait list does not come through for my niece for her other 2 nights, she will just join us in the 2BR for those 2 nights (we will not be over-capacity). Thus in order for her to make park reservations etc. I’ll need to put her name on both rooms, correct?

Assuming this won’t be an issue but just want to make sure before I start listing guest names on the rooms.

Thanks!

I would list your niece and her friend for all 6 nights in the 2BR. Then I would list your niece and her friend in the studio under a pseudonym, like a nickname (e.g. Victoria Smith in the 2BR and Vicky Smith in the studio). Make sure that the name you use for the 2BR is the one she uses in MDE. Tickets and park reservations will be attached to that profile.

Get a KTTW card (or whatever they’re calling it now) from the front desk for the studio occupants. They can use that for getting into the studio and charging to the room.

If the waitlist comes through, just change the names.

Oh boy, this is going to get complicated as I have a couple of these situations. Thanks for the tip though. As the DVC member can I keep my name as the primary occupant on all rooms even if they overlap dates, or is that also a no no?

I have had no problem with listing people like this for duplicate nights, as well as had no issues with park reservations.

As long as they have tickets, and are on a room reservation, they will be park od the resort guest reservation.

Since you are waitlisting for the last nights, there is no need to rush to get them on your reservation and actually can simply add them when you are there for those last two nights. With no dining plans, it is not going to be a big deal,

ETA: I have kept my name as lead on more than one with overlapping nights. Once we checked in, I had it adjusted if I needed it to.

Thank you! I was just worried they might cancel one of the reservations automatically as I think I have heard in the past there’s a risk of that. I’ll definitely hold off on changing names around until I know more. But will need to make sure everyone’s name is on a reservation for the appropriate dates of their visit prior to making park reservations etc. Good to know I can add or even change at check in as needed!

I have never had a cancel. I will sometimes stalk and get something booked for others and forget to change lead name. So, I just add the others as guests and not stress.

The key is that once the actual trip happens, you can only be checked in to one room at a time, so the front desk has always been able to simply uncheck me as a guest if I had not adjusted things by that time.

Ah, got it! Thanks again 🙌

I’ve never had a problem with reservations getting cancelled but I’ve had more than one issue with Magic Bands not working to open doors. They were never able to resolve those issues at the resorts. We were constantly going back to the front desk to get the Magic Bands reset. It was such a pain in the behind that it’s easier for me to just do it with the phantom guest names. If you want a little bit of Saturday morning entertainment, look up Pete’s rant review of the Grand Floridian. He had a similar problem.

Ha, I think we’ve had issues with that even when we haven’t changed the names around. But good to know!

(By the way, what’s the simpliest way to look up one of Pete’s reviews? I haven’t done that previously and would welcome the Saturday morning entertainment 😂)
