Question on DVC Public Offering Statement

Hi all:

I am new to all of this, but I do have a question. I have put in an offer to purchase DVC (through Timeshare Store resale). reading many of your threads has been informative and reassuring. I just got the Multi-Site Public Offering Statement on DVC and have begun to read through it. It's obvioulsy a laywer's delight.

My question is, did anyone have their attorney review it before you purchased? Were they any concerns?

We just got back from WDW a couple of weeks ago. Although we have been annual WDW pilgrims for about 25 years, I had never given DVC mucha thought until we happen to get a 2 bedroom at VWL because they had screwed up our reservations at WL. In any event, any comments that anyone may have would be most helpful.

I would certainly suggest reading through the POS. If you have concerns about any of the positions stated, by all means have them reviewed by your attorney.

I did have my initial purchase reviewed and all of my concerns were satisfied. All aspects of the program are described in detail and, although Disney has taken great lengths to protect itself, my counsel found nothing so concerning as to ward off purchase.

I also read the POS carefully, and of course it is very slanted to Disney. But I had no concerns after reading it.

It is important to remember that none of the DVC "perks" are in there....and all can be modified, suspended or cancelled by Disney whenever they want.

Basically, you are purchasing luxury accommodations at a good price. Since you've been going to WDW for so long, I'm sure that's plenty enough incentive for you!!
