Question on dining plan and ADR

Does anyone know if you can make your ADR's before booking your package? We will be doing the dining plan since we will be going during free dining. I know the character meals we want to do will book fast so I want to get those scheduled asap vs. waiting until our package is booked (which won't be for about a month).

ADR's are not tied to a reservation. That being said - you can't book until 180 days prior to the date. Some places you may need a credit card to hold the reservation. You need to cancel 24 hours in advance or you may be charged $10pp.

Yes, anyone can book ADRs. You don't have to have a package or be a Disney resort guest.

Dining reservations can be made by anyone 180 days in advance. If you don't have a Disney resort reservation/package you will have to make them one day at a time.

If you have a Disney resort reservation/package on the 180th day before your check in date you can book up to the first 10 days of your vacation as well.

I read this as the OP will be doing the dining plan, and those won't have to pay OOP for meals. So can she book the pre-pay meals and still have them applied to the dining plan? I believe the answer is that your credit card will be charged for any meals that you prepay for, then will be reimbursed at the meal when you show your KTTW with dining plan.
Is that correct? I am in the same dilemma, as I want to wait to buy our dining plan till paying off some other things, so am waiting to book Hoop De Do.

Yes, you are correct. For pre-pay meals (CRT and the 3 dinner shows) your credit card will be charged in full when you make your reservation if you don't have the dining plan at that time.
