Question on codes and free dining promo

I am a newbie and have a couple of questions about the September free dining promo (I understand it is not official yet for 2008) and the AAA rates and other sales/codes.

1. If I do get free dining, can I pay the difference between the regular dining plan and the deluxe dining plan to upgrade if free dining were offered? Or would I have to pay the full deluxe price to get that?
2. Can the free dining promo be used in conjunction with other codes and sales? Or with AAA rates?

When free dining was offered in Sept/Oct 2007 to resort guests as a "bounceback special" we were offered the chance to upgrade our dining plan to the premium plan for a certain amount per day. If it's offered to the general public, that will probably be the case again.

You can't stack codes. I think you can book your package through a AAA agent and receive some discount on the room and still get free dining, but I'm not 100% sure. I am not a AAA member and book my own trips.
