question on banked points

were planning on our trip for next jan
and have banked 82 points from last year into our aug 21 UY

not planning on having to cancel but if we would have to where do the banked points go

any of the points used for jan those I could bank then

do I have this right

The banked 2020 points are now in your Aug 2021 UY. They must be used by July 31st, 2022 no matter what.

If you cancel January with them at least 31 days in advance, they can be used to book another trip anytime before August 1st, 2022.

If you had to cancel less than 31 days out of the trip, they now become holding points and not only do they still expire but also can only be used to book a trip 60 days or less from check in.

Any 2021 UY points would still be bankable as long as you follow the more than 31 day rule for any cancel or the same holding restrictions would apply to those as well.
