We have AP holders and will have park hopper holders during our next stay at WDW (on-site)...question is how do the AP's work for EMH/EE? Do the AP holders flash their hotel key or something like that to get in during EMH/EE or do AP holders get in during EE/EMH regardless of whether they are staying on property or not?

Thanks!!!

I believe EMH/EE is only for resort guests.

When we were there in July, they told us to have our room keys ready to show at the turnstile for our early entry to Animal Kingdom. We got ours out but no one asked to see them. So, while theoretically it is only for resort guests, I think non-resort guests are able to slip through.

It does not matter what kind of pass you have to get in - they will want to see a WDW Resort Room Key. ONLY WDW resort guests are allowed in for EE/EMH. (They do try to do a good job of keeping out the people who stay off-site)

We have APs & my Parents had UPHs when we stayed onsite in June, and we all easily got in for EMH by flashing our room keys.

Though this is only a resort guest perk, Disney does not do a very good job in checking. Just last trip the couple next to us a H&V commented that they were surprised that MGM was openned so early and I asked them if they were staying on property and they said no.

I recently stopped going to EE because the crowds are so bad during this perk now. We used it in May most of the time, then tried it in July and only did it twice (MK and AK) and decided it was way too crazy. We were never asked to produce our room key. We then gave AK a shot again during our September trip and my adult daughter didn't have her room key with her, but didn't matter, because no one ever asked. (Of course, we made a big mistake trying to do EE at AK in september--what was I thinking). So as we prepare to leave next week, you won't find me at ANY EE during this 10 day trip.
