The boss and I are completing our bucket list finally in March of next year (hopefully). This time around we are using one of the Disney preferred booking companies because I simply dont have the time to put into the pursuit of things we want to do. We are finishing with our final resort of the Grand Floridian for our 35th anniversary and then split staying at Animal Kingdom lodge for the other half of the week. Since this is a bucket list thing we are staying club level at both resorts so this will be even "grander" (pun intended). The agent is stalking Victoria and Alberts Queen Victoria room for us so hopefully that goes well too. After this visit we will have met our goal of staying at all the original Disney owned resorts. The boss is excited as am I but would love anyone's take on club level for either or both resorts from recent stays.

Cheers.

Congrats on 35 years! These are my two favorite resorts.

I would suggest staying at AKL first and GF the second half. I’m not knocking the ALK lounge, and I will absolutely stay CL there again, but it’s going to feel very bare bones next to RPC. It’s dark, many of the rooms are far, has less overall seating and tables are closer together, fewer food offerings, and service is a little bit of a step below. Another big thing that we noticed consistently during our AKL CL stay was that they often did not replenish certain foods when they ran out, even when there was still another hour or so to go for that service. To me, it feels more functional as a place to grab something, as opposed to RPC feeling more luxurious. RPC has a ton of spread out seating with beautiful views, you can hear the live piano playing from the lobby below, they have more robust food offerings, and when we have stayed we found there to just be more staff available overall in that lounge than AKL. RPC is also just right in the middle of everything, and it is so nice to just grab a glass of wine and then go around to the different shops and browse.

@focusondisney posted some really wonderful photos on the CL thread, definitely check them out!

I could be mistaken but I believe there is or used to be a special safari that is just for CL guests, or just for AKL guests, so if that is something that interests you you may want to look into whether that still exists. AKL is a super special resort, this sounds like the perfect trip.
