Question on a Reservation...need help!

Hi...first time posting and will be calling MS but thought I would ask here also. I recently booked a reservation for Dec at Bay Lake for a one bedroom as my mother was going to come along on the trip with my family. We had to borrow points from the upcoming year to do this, now it seems she might not come and we could really just stay in a studio. Question is, if we cancel can we at least bank the current year points and use the ones we had to borrow to cover the studio? I just do not want to lose any points and not sure what to do now...we used most points for next year so banking would allow us to also go next year.

Yes you should be able to do this.

you could keep the 1br and still go next year. Just borrow your points for next years reservation. That usually seems to be the way many dis'ers do it. Always in a constant state of borrowing.

If I ran my checking account they way I use my DVC, the bank would be pretty

The BLT studio is really small. If it is just you and your spouse, you should be fine. But if you have small children with you, you might just want to stay with the one bedroom villa.

And depending on when in Dec you may not be able to find a studio available for your whole trip. Otherwise you should be able to do what you want to.
