I don't know why I'm unsure of this but have seen conflicting info online with regards to DVC members. Here's my question. Staying on our points for first few nights, then staying at Yacht Club for second half of trip, obviously paying cash. Can I add the dining plan to that part of trip if I only have a room only reservation at YC? TIA

There is currently an offer out where you can purchase the dining plan without buying tickets at the resorts (not DVC related). So possibly depending on the rules for that offer. I think one is that you have to pay full price for the room. You can only get it by calling and asking, it's not on the web site.

Other than that, cash reservations can't get the DDP without buying tickets in package.

Unless you have an AP. As I understand AP holders booking cash rooms can also get the DDP.

One of my trips this year I am going to be paying a cash ressie at Contemporary for 2 nights for 2 rooms on December 27-29. There will be 6 of us in those rooms and 4 in DVC BLT staying on points. One with DVC has the PAP and The cash ressie will have AP. Will it be worth it to have the DDP instead of us having the TIW card?

Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and booked a package thru disney for that part of trip.

I think it depends entirely upon the dining habits of the people going, and their ages.

If you'll be dining together at table service venues, the TiW is likely your best deal, or at least equal to the DDP. If you'll be splitting up and some of you prefer counter service then the DDP is likely better.

Generally, I prefer table service meals and like a salad or soup before the entree, and rarely eat dessert so the TiW works out best for me.
