Question: How to confirm a DVC reservation as a renter?

Thanks so much for listening and understanding.
I think the owner is just done with me and has stopped answering my emails.
I don't want to wait on just hope that my ME packet will arrive 3 weeks out.

So, it seems I'm not off-base to be concerned since there has been no response from the owner in the last 3+ weeks. Boo.

Ok, thanks in the past I would get a message that said you are not within your 10 days, guess that changed.

I was curious so I just tried it. I get this message:

When you're within 10 days of your arrival date, you can simplify your Resort arrival by providing your check-in information online.

but above that it displays my reservation information: the resort, check-in date, number of nights and number of guests. There is also a link for more detailed itinerary information that displays the names of the guests.

ETA: There is aso a link to Add/View Celebration(s).

Yes, I was able to do that after I first booked. Then I asked the owner to add our flight info. Not sure if that's what caused it to stop appearing or it's just a coincidence or...worse. I didn't check everyday between the DVC emailed confirmation # and when I got around to booking flights.

It was very comforting while it was there, I thought I was in the clear.

Good news is someone waitlisted probably got a BCV room this fall.

Just because they were "called out" maybe all is not lost.

Do you have all of their contact info? Did you verify references? Are they a active participant and poster here on the DIS? You can call DME and see if your DME reservation is still in place. I don't have the number with me at the moment.

The individual who has reportedly booked and cancelled reservations has not been posting on the DIS DVC Rent/Trade Board in at least the past year. They have not even been on the DIS at all for 2 months.

One case I know of involving this person was when a poster made a request on the Rent/Trade Board in a thread and was then contacted by the person in question soliciting a renter - even though they did not have a rental thread on the Rent/Trade Board. The poster decided to send them money and later found that the reservation has been cancelled. The poster in this thread did not make the rental via the DIS Rent/Trade Board but apparently had the same experience with the same person.

This is the reason we have been making repeated pleas to report any unsolicited contact for a rental. There have been several posters who have been reading rental requests posted on the Rent/Trade and other DIS Forums and then contacting the poster by PM or email offering to rent.

Please, if you are contacted about renting by anyone where you did not initiate the discussion as a result of a thread on the DIS DVC Rent/Trade Board, report such activity to me or any of the Rent/Trade moderators ... and PLEASE, do not send any money as a result of such contact. Buyer Beware!

VGC is part of the DVC family but you cannot check online about the reservation. You can only check online for WDW-DVC resorts.

You can also check Aluani..which is why it seems so strange!

We reserved at GCV in October, 2012 via a rental and received a Disney email with a link leading to http://vacation.disneyworld.com/...... showing our reservation number, dates, all guest names, points, resort, etc. The person we rented from set it all up so it is definitely possible at GCV.

New way to check a DVC reservation is through Disney Parks main site

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/

Then click "My Reservations" on the top bar

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/?type=generic

log in, and Retrieve Reservation!

This works for bringing up my reservation,but it lists the dates,no of days and nights,2 adults 1 child. No names and it does not have the resort name(GCV).
I do have the copy of the email from DVC and the link does work and all of our names are corrrect on the email.
I just find it strange
