Question: How to confirm a DVC reservation as a renter?

We are renting through Davids DVC rentals. We have a studio reservation at BWV and a studio at OKW. Interestingly, we recieved information from Disney in the mail confirming our BWV reservation. We also have a reservation at ASMO for our last night and when my husband pulls up his Disney account, the BWV ressie shows up as well!
However we have not recieved anything in the mail re: the OKW reservation.

It's odd. I am not concerned because I never expected or was told I would get anything. What David's does provide is the link in the above post where I can confirm my reservation is in the system, as well as see our names and add celebrations.

Just thought it was interesting.:)

Maybe it's me, but when I go to mydisneyreservation.com/DVC, it just takes me to the WDW vacation planning website.

Hi,
You can also confirm on the disney website under my reservations. You just enter the confirmation number and select it was rented through DVC and it will pull up your reservations. I think this is new this year because I couldn't do it last year.

Hi! Could anyone confirm if the 'Confirmation Number' is the same the 'Reservation Number'?

I rented points from a member a few months ago for a stay next week. What I have is a scanned of the reservation with a 'Reservation Number' on it, when I try to pull it up on the link above using that 'Reservation Number', nothing comes up.

Appreciate it!

Thank you erionm, I was able to confirm the reservation at that link. The member has not received the written confirmation yet, but they were able to provide me with the confirmation # over the phone that they were given when they placed the reservation. With just the #, I was able to confirm the reservation at the link you provided. That link should be added to the sticky, it is very helpful.

Thanks,

Eric

FYI in over half of my reservation I never recieved a written confirmation from DVC even when requested. I do get an e-mail one.

We're renting and it's very easy to go on Disney's website under "My Reservations." It will have your room reservation and dining reservations in an easy to read format.

We're wait listed for BLT. I wonder if "My Reservations" will show BLT if the wait list clears---and, how quickly the change would be made on the website. Does anyone know?

Hello everyone! I have just booked my flights from the UK to MCO on the 3rd July returning 20th July  and would love to stay onsite again but doing so via Disney, ATM, is cost prohibitive :scared1:

I like the sound of DVC but not entirely sure what I need to do to see whether that would be an option? My choice would be to stay at either AKv or BCv for the entire stay. What should I do to see if there is a DVC member willing to sell points (???) for this and how much would it cost?

Apologies for my naivety - this is the first time I have looked into this as being a viable option and I don't know where to start :confused3

Go to the rent/trade board and read the information in the stickys at the top of the thread. This post may be edited since it may be construed as advertising for a reservation which is not allowed.

Thanks for the info above regarding Renting Reservations.

I have a question:
As the Renter- How much do you generally charge when you Rent a reservation to someone? Is the going rate $15 x #points that the reservation costs, or is there another calculation that is used?

I got the $15 from the DVC member site as cost for 1-time use point purchase of $15 ($13.33 plus $1.67 tax) per vacation point.

Thanks

Review the offerings currently listed on the Rent/Trade board.

Everyone who could check the ressie at mydisneyreservation.com:

Would you panic if you could see it, add special events, then a few weeks later you go back to check it and no the site says the ressie is no longer in the system?

I've tried contacting the owner. She says she can see it on the DVC system and even added my ME info. This has been ongoing for about a month so I hate to keep bugging her but it's making me crazy-nervous!

The trip isn't until November, I paid with paypal/credit card. Should I just chill and relax until I don't receive my ME info or is that naive?:confused3

Try checking it here.

That takes you to online check in.

Right, but you can plug in your confirmation number, last name on the reservation and check-in date and it will bring up your reservation. This was the Web site the person I rented from gave me to verify the reservation was there. You don't actually get the option the check in online until it's time to check in.

I'd suggest verifying your reservation at : https://secure.reservations.disney....s/processEngine?process=false&pageRender=true

If you have previously been able to "see" your reservation and now it is not there I would definitley be concerned and doing everything possible to contact the member you are renting from. Hopefully you have a mailing address as well as land line and cel phone contact numbers for additional opportunity to get in touch with them.

The packet from ME won't arrive until about 3 weeks prior to your arival date, so I'd be a bit more proactive in the meantime if you are still unable to independently verify the reservation yourself any longer.

Ok, thanks in the past I would get a message that said you are not within your 10 days, guess that changed. :confused3

Did you verify with the owner that the reservation number is still the same? DVC has recently been changing reservations numbers due to some sort of problems with the system and never notifying anyone. The owner would be able to see it without entering a reservation number and unless they've specifically double checked they wouldn't even notice.

MisKaren1 - KAT4Disney is almost certainly correct. The recent upgrade had caused many issues like this for members as well as for renters.

If the owner can see it and you have no other reason to believe something is wrong, odds are very much in your favor that nothing is wrong. If you contact the owner again, ask her to give you the "new" reservation so that you can stop worrying. Good luck!
