Hi everyone!! I have a crazy question. Has anyone ever had a wedding inside of Magic Kingdom without actually going through Disney Fairy Tale Weddings? This is a completely ludicrous idea that my family and I came up with when we finally reached the end of our wedding-planning rope! Everyone would get their own park admission and go in early in the morning when it is least crowded. Would security come break it up? Could we just do a really fast ceremony in a secluded area without anyone even really noticing? If anyone has ANY experience whatsoever with something like this, let me know!!

It is against their policies to do that. Beyond being immediately evicted if caught, you could face a park ban for a really long time. While it seems tempting, doing things like this, because they are against the rules, potentially puts Disney in a position to change policies and rules (like they did for individuals who could not wait in a traditional line) that have wider ramifications. Is it really worth looking over your shoulder for fear of being caught while you're getting married? Why not just celebrate with friends and family in MK for the day after like a courthouse wedding?

Realistically, guerrilla weddings like you're describing happen more often than people who pay for legit weddings would like to know. Sometimes cast members break it up, but sometimes they either don't notice or look the other way. Once that I know of, they went so far as to participate. A large group of well-dressed guests is likely to be seen as a distraction, which could more easily get you noticed and booted.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't do it. "I broke the rules" is no kind of bragging rights to me, and I sure would not want to forfeit the cost of my park admission (or worse, an annual pass) if caught. If I really wanted to do a discreet ceremony on Disney property on the cheap, I would probably have a friend get ordained, rent a really nice room at a deluxe hotel, and have a quickie ceremony on the balcony. Then I'd have a Drink Around the World "reception" at Epcot.

Personally? As a former DFTW bride, I couldnt care less if people try to pull these off. It takes nothing away from the absolutely perfect wedding I had through DFTW. Can you do it? Probably. Will you get caught? Possibly. I don't think I personally could have been present in the moment while exchanging vows if I was even remotely worried about a CM coming around the bend and busting it up. And that was a moment I really wanted to be fully present for. As for the so called bragging about pulling these weddings off? Meh. I cant imagine telling my kids that we got married by sneaking around to a remote spot in the magic kingdom and pulled off a quickie ceremony before getting caught. I'll be able to show them the albums from our wedding and the wedding pavilion and re-live the excitement and joy of our wedding day. That's my outlook, yours may be very different.

I will say there are many on this board who will not share my opinion, and you're probably not going to get much support or help on this board to pull off that kind of wedding from those who are trying to plan and pay for weddings through DFTW or the Swan/Dolphin.

I completely understand being frugal as we're doing a vow renewal and were looking in to cheaper options, but realistically there isn't much cheaper that is magical and following the rules. I wouldn't want to risk getting caught and kicked out, or being so nervous of being caught that you regret your own wedding. Could you do the memories package, and have just your close family/friends there, and then do an informal reception like dinner somewhere, or a dessert party, or walking around the world showcase getting some drinks?

My thoughts exactly.

1) Inside a park is a BAD, BAD idea.
2) If noticed, you very well may be kicked out.
. . . at the least, embarrassing
. . . at the worse, very costly due to voided park passes
. . . at the worst, a permanent ban (highly unlikely)
3) The officiant would have a rough time; most officiants would not risk such.
4) Better to have a "stealth" wedding or VR in your resort room (or campsite if at FW).
