The other day, I went to the Yankee Candle store. I wanted to buy a candle for a cute candleholder I'd bought. The minute I walked into the store, the smell overwhelmed me. I totally stuffed up. I tried smelling a few different candles, but I couldn't smell a thing. I also got a headache just being there for a few minutes. I have candles in my home, but I don't burn them. Is it just me? Don't all those smells together bother anyone else? I don't know how those ladies that work there do it. I could never work in a shop like that.

My sister works at Yankee Candle. I went to see her at work and thought the same thing!!! That place made me sick.....WAY too strong smelling. She said it took her a few days working there to get used to it. You are suppose to smell the coffee beans inbetween smelling the different candle scents.

But, I do agree with you...about the store smelling so strong....I don't think I could ever get used to it!!!

The smell is very powerful!!! I could never work there. The first time I went to a Yankee Candle store I wanted to get a tray of their votives so I walked around smelling all the votive candles to find what I wanted. Before I knew it, I became light headed and I had to get the heck out of there:( . I went back after I cleared my head and bought a couple but all those smells mixed together is definitly one big headache:eek: .

I cannot go in the stores without either getting a headache or feelin nauseated. But I love Yankee Candles (at least my fave scents). So, I usually test sniff at a Hallmark type store, where they have most of the scents, but they aren't opened or burning, and I can sniff a few and then decide what to buy. Or I buy my faves on the internet. I am very prone to Migraines from scent, so I have to be careful in those types of store. I have Coconut Bay burning right now---quite tropical!

I work at a Hallmark Gold Crown and we sell Yankee Candles. It's not a huge section, but we have a lot and the smell is not overwhelming. Sometimes I hang out over there and just sniff around :)

My husband and I had gone into a Yankee Candle store and within a couple of minutes, his nose started to bleed from the strong scent.

I've got a sensitive nose.... but I love going into candle shops to smell the scents. Tanya gets overwhelmed, but when I sniff those yankee candles, I tune out everything but the scent I'm smelling :)

Nope. Not at all. I buy the candle FOR the smell, not because of the container!

I'd be eating all the time if i worked there...always makes me hungry..
