Question for vets or cat experts

My sweet kitty has cancer and is end stage kidney failure. he's been doing real good lately except I've noticed a change in his personality. He seems to meow more at us (never "spoke" before) and he's always jumping up on the counters and begging for food and being a nuisance. he was never like this before. Could the cancer be making him act this way or is he just being a PITA? Thanks!

I read a thread the other day...
DISers said that their cats "changed" as they got closer to the end

I think he's unsure of what is happening and
just wants attention & love from you to make himself
feel better...

send him a hug for me & an extra one for you.
